2015 – 2016 GRADE 4 & 5 SUPPLY LIST

PLEASE CLEARLY LABEL ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME

This list represents the basic supply list of materials needed in Grades 4 and 5. Please note that we are asking for fewer pens and pencils to be kept at school. We do suggest, however, that you purchase extra supplies to keep at home until needed. Individual teachers may request additional items in September. Supplies may need to be replenished during the year.

20 HB pencils (Hilroy, Eagle)

1 box pencil crayons (12 minimum)

1 pencil sharpener (with attached case for collecting shavings)

2 soft white erasers (Staedtler)

2 blue ballpoint pens

2 red ballpoint pens

1 package of fine tip felt pens

2 thin black felt pens (no sharpies or permanent inks)

2 Highlighter Pens (2 colours – yellow and green)

1 watercolour (disc) paint set with brush

2 UHU glue sticks

1 bottle white glue

15 duo-tangs (no folders – we colour code duo-tangs to support student organization so we are asking for 15 different colours, or as many as you can find)

1 pkg. (200 sheets each) of 3 hole ruled paper (wide lined)

2 pkgs. “Stickee” notes (3” x 3”)

1 pkg. Graph paper

1 2” binder

1 pair of pointed scissors 6 ¾”

1 clear plastic metric ruler (30 cm long & also marked in mm)

1 Student Dictionary (Webster’s or Oxford)

1 Student Thesaurus (Roget’s)

1 waterproof school bag (backpack)

1 box of Kleenex

1 Flash Drive (4 GB minimum)

1 plastic supply box (no bigger than a Girl Guide Cookie box)

1 Student Planner (to be purchased from the school in September)

A HELPFUL HINT FOR PURCHASING SUPPLIES:

Although bargains are often appealing, many of the products are not of high quality and therefore may need to be replaced more frequently than long established brand name products. Buying the more expensive brand may save you money in the long term.
