State Representative, District 44, Position 1
2-year term
Hans Dunshee
(Prefers Democratic Party)
Elected Experience: Hans represents Snohomish County in the State Legislature. As chair of the Capitol Budget Committee, Hans demands that hard-earned taxpayer funds be dedicated to expanding educational and job opportunities for all.
Other Professional Experience: Hans owned and operated a septic-design business for 10-plus years and a boat repair shop previously.
Education: Hans is a proud graduate from the University of Washington. He also earned a graduate degree from Western Washington University.
Community Service: Hans has served as a volunteer firefighter, on school committees and the county planning commission. He has consistently earned support from local law enforcement, workers, teachers, business owners and seniors.
Statement: Working for bipartisan solutions: It’s what I do. Investments in education create opportunity and jobs. Investments in roads provide safer commutes and jobs. Investments in health care ensure a healthier community and jobs. Investments in industry grow jobs.
I’m committed to a strong Washington. To combat the devastating effects of the Great Recession, I championed the 2012 jobs package that created 20,000 jobs statewide and 1,700 here in Snohomish. In 2013, I secured the funds needed to further educational and technical training at WSU Everett; build critically needed schools; and create 33,000 private sector jobs.

Statement: As a Veteran and former Sergeant in the United States Marines, I’ve learned the values of honor, courage, and commitment. I’ve called Snohomish County home for over 30 years. In Olympia, I will continue to carefully manage our taxpayer dollars, promote economic development and job creation, fund our schools for our kids’ future, and work to reduce congestion on our roads.
