Please find enclosed guidelines for your nominating of students for the CACCS “Student of the Year” and the forms to be returned to the Colorado Association of Career Colleges and Schools with these nominations. There is a maximum of one submission per category.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE RECEIVE THESE FORMS IN OUR OFFICE NOT LATER THAN JUNE 3, 2016.
We believe this will be a most successful public relations program, providing recognition for so many of the outstanding students, as well as public recognition for our profession. This year’s event will be held in September.

The Review Committee will focus on three areas: Commitment, Performance, and Leadership/Professionalism. On a separate sheet of paper, please answer the following questions regarding the nominated student using specific examples where appropriate. STUDENT ESSAYS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. IF ANY OF THE ITEMS BELOW ARE NOT INCLUED IN THE SUBMISSION, IT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Limit of one or two letters of recommendation, unbound.
1) COMMITMENT: Describe the nominated student’s commitment to his/her academic and professional career goals. Examples may include personal achievements outside the classroom, the importance of achieving this career goal to the student’s personal and/or professional life, and/or the student’s reason for selecting this particular career.
2) PERFORMANCE: Describe the student’s performance in regard to attendance, grades, participation in class activities, and the student’s classroom work. Please attach a transcript or certified grade point average. A release form (attached) signed by the nominated student must accompany this application.
3) LEADERSHIP/PROFESSIONALISM: Describe how the student has exhibited a professional role within the classroom and in the community. Examples may include interaction with fellow classmates, extracurricular activities, and participation in professional student organizations, tutoring, assisting instructor(s) in the department, and/or displaying a positive attitude in general.
