RELATED RATES PROJECT

For this project you will write an original related rate problem with, preferably, a Thanksgiving theme. Your problem must be written and illustrated on a ¼ sheet of poster board (11 in. x 14 in.) with your solution written on the back of the poster. Your problem should utilize a mathematical relationship (Pythagorean theorem, cone, trig ratios, etc.) similar to the related rates problems that we have worked for homework.

Your project will count as a major assignment. To get full credit, it should:

1) be creative, original, and entertaining

2) utilize a correct mathematical relationship

3) have a solution that is correctly and clearly presented

4) be neat and follow the instructions

5) be turned in during Calculus class on Tuesday, Nov. 29

If your poster is especially entertaining and attractive, you will earn a free practice check pass to use during the third six weeks. Your free practice check pass will allow you to not have to turn in one set of homework assignments.
