PRESENTATIONS AT THE DBCP
TECHNICAL WORKSHOP

FOREWORD
The scientific and technical Workshop of the 18th session of the Data Buoy Cooperation Panel (DBCP) was held at Trois Ilets, Martinique, on 14-15 October 2002. The theme of the workshop was “Research, Applications, and Developments Involving Data Buoys”. The three sessions of the workshop reflected a breakout of the overarching theme.
Sixteen papers were submitted in advance and two papers of particular relevance were added at the workshop. The formal presentations, either in the form of a paper or the slide presentation, are included on this CD-ROM. Where the author did not provide material, only the abstract is provided here. In the case of the Centurioni and Niiler paper, in which there were copyright restrictions, the abstract is presented here and the reader is referred to the scientific journal in which the paper appears.
We express sincere thanks to the authors for their work, and to the session chairs – EstelleCouture of Canada, Elizabeth Horton of the USA, and Craig Engler of the USA – for their valuable assistance.
