Directions: From Buffalo: take I-90 W; Merge onto US-219 S (road sign: US-219 Orchard Park / Springville) take US-219 S to the Armor Duells Rd Exit; turn right towards RT-277/RT-240 intersection; turn right. Follow RT 277 for 1.8 miles to Chestnut Ridge Park Entrance; turn right into the park; at the Stop Sign; turn left; go another 1.2 miles into the upper loop; turn left at the Mackinnon Lodge.
From Springville: take US-219 N to the Armor Duells Rd Exit; turn right towards RT-277/RT-240 intersection; turn right. Follow RT 277 for 1.8 miles to Chestnut Ridge Park Entrance; turn right into the park; at the Stop Sign; turn left; go another 1.2 miles into the upper loop; turn left at the Mackinnon Lodge.
Course: The course is mostly groomed using the existing x-country ski trail with parts in the woods and open spaces of the park. In case of no snow the race will be a tr ai l run!
There is a limited number of Snowshoes available for rental or use, come early to reserve a pair. Ski poles can be used but will not be available for rental. Bring your own equipment to ensure that you have a pair of snowshoes.
This event is an Empire State Games Snowshoe Qualifier and can be used for entry at the 2010 Empire Winter Games.
There will be a children’s 400 meter snowshoe fun-run following the 5K Race.
A minimum of 3 kids must sign up for the event and the race fee is free!
Awards: Awards are given for the top overall male and female winner and the top finishers in each age group. Age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49; 50-59, 60 & over.
Door Prizes: Registered entrants are eligible for door prizes following the event and must be present to win!
Refreshments: Following completion of the race, refreshments will be served inside the Mackinnon lodge.

Declaration: In consideration of accepting this entry, I the undersigned hereby for myself, my heirs and administrators waive and release any and all rights and claims for and damages. I may have for the organization holding the event, Checkers AC, The County of Erie, ESSRA, and its sponsors, and other representatives, successors and assignees for any and all injuries suffered by me in said event. I hereby attest and verify that I am fit and have sufficiently trained for competition in this event and my physical fitness has been certified by a medical doctor. No one may entry without signing this official wavier.
