RE: Data Requests for Additional Analysis
We frequently receive request from YAQ users to either re-run data for additional nutrients updated values. This document was developed to streamline this process. Please find below new and formalized policy and procedures concerning data reruns.
Over time we have also updated several of the analysis programs to reflect the current food availability.
COST
$400.00 per batch for small studies. For those studies with more than 1000 observations, the new cost will be $1000.00 per data set.
BILLING SHEET (***Please note the billing sheet is at the end of this file***)
The billing sheet below needs to be submitted with each request for data reruns. The billing sheet is designed to help you keep information related to data analyses on file and to more efficiently move your requests through our system. The billing sheet will request much of the same information as has been previously requested but new information is also needed.
Please find attached a new billing sheet for those investigators requesting re-analysis of data previously generated.
DATA SET FILENAME
The billing sheet will request the filename of your scanned data sets originally scanned and analyzed. At the completion of analyzing your first data set, we returned to you your scanned data and nutrient output file. You were also sent the data dictionary files for the scanned data and the nutrient files. The names of these files depend on whether you have requested ASCII or EXCEL output.
If you requested ASCII output your returned data files are labeled like the following:
adams24.dat
adams24.dd
adams24.pos
adams24.raw
adams24.rawlog
The filename.dat is your scanned data set filename in ASCII format. The filename.pos is the scanned data set data dictionary. The filename.raw is the nutrient output filename in ASCII. The filename.dd file is the data dictionary for the nutrient file.
If you are now requesting EXCEL output rather than ASCII output, your files will be labeled like the following:
baer6.scn.csv
baer6.scn.csv.label
baer6.raw.csv
baer6.raw.csv.label
The filename with scn.csv extension represents the scanned data set filename in EXCEL format. The filename.scn.csv.label file is the data dictionary for the scanned data set. The filename.raw.csv file is the nutrient output filename in Excel format. The filename.raw.csv.label file is the data dictionary for the nutrient table.
NUTRIENT OUTPUT FORMAT
Finally, you will be expected to circle either ASCII or EXCEL format. If you do not document on the billing sheet, EXCEL format will be generated. If this information is not listed and data needs to be rerun, there will be an additional charge of $400.00.
As always, our aim is to provide outside users with the best quality nutritional data possible. As time has gone on, the complexity of our dynamic database has grown enormously as have the number of outside users, which inevitably creates some challenges and stresses for our system. The above changes are meant to insure that we can provide all users with the best possible data.
