PRODUCTION MEETING REPORT

All Shook Up

SCENIC: M. Scroggs

-Every tent move is sketched out –

Act II, Scene 1 – As far back as possible in a row. As pictured in the rendering (order wise).

Act II, Scene 2 – Small tent (yellow) moves downstage for that scene (from it’s C spot).

Little Less Conversation – Move blue tent D further – by first portal (creating a diagonal).

Devil in Disguise – Moving the other tent (red) to make a “U” type shape.

There’s Always Me – Back to the Scene 2 look (Yellow furthest down).

Act II, Scene 7 - Revelation Scene – Pulling things off more (so that it opens up and gets easier scene shift wise).

-There is an opening in the front and back if necessary, great!

-Fog – we’re on it. No problem, just need to pick it up and get some fluid.

-Dana will get the list of fog cues and get it to us as soon as possible – def “All Shook Up.” Mostly in the second act. A little bit in “Let Yourself Go” (a hint of dream). Some for “A Little Less Conversation,” and maybe for the bows. “It’s Now or Never” will have fog.

Will look into fog machine choreography.

-On the scenic side of things: foam is becoming the love boat. How long will they have to get into that boat? There is plenty of time to get into the boat – getting pushed on without a technician being seen? The unit is 6 ½ feet long. Not that bad to push, it just needs to come on. There is no real “boat-ography.” Maybe be able to hide someone behind it?

-The tents – they are old and dirty – use cotton? It will only get better as the show goes on. Big stripes, that’s going to be hard. Little stripes is easy. Illuminate the tents? There are a lot of options with that. Looking for that for “All Shook Up” and “A Little Less Conversation.”

-The bus seats – Actual bus seat high, shoulder in the window.

-The bar is almost done – the seats will swivel.

-Finishing and then getting things in the air!

-Looking to pin the drop tight closed and chain the bottom.

PAINT: Molly McFadden

-The US cyc is not painted – no problem.

-Early in the week we’ll figure out the space for painting the drop.

-Will need to stretch the drop – Scroggs and Duper need to talk.

-The proscenium will be the darker purple – Sarah does have the samples.

ELECTRICS: Seif Cristobal

-4 spotlights? That is wonderful. Thank you.

-Rough idea of specials, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” – C stage on the “chorus line line.”

-Specials will be able to be covered from most places, not a problem. Thank you very much!

-All 4 spots? “Can’t Help Falling in Love” will def. use all 4. Maybe in “Burning Love.” Probably not “C’mon Everybody.”

-Dana has an idea about the bows and the look, will chat later.

-The time of day, great. Thank you.

-How much depth is in the tents – 4’ deep. Something to hang from? Yes – 2 in each. Individually controlled tents – yes.

-The bus as 3 tail lights.

-The jukebox is powered, yes. It will be DSL at that point. Josh will show Theresa the juke.

-Drop C will be a painted drop instead of a cyc – hearts on just the top? No problem.

-The window, open to the cyc. How ugly is the seam? It’s about 10’ – 12’ feet horizontal across it. Will work with the gobo.

-The gas station will have practicals around it – behind the 1st portal. Thank you. Would prefer it not to chase – no problem.

-Will work together with electrics and scenic to get these practical things lit and what not.

-The front of house is roughly focused. Down stage will be lit well and shooting as far up as needed.

-There are 5 heart gobos. Nice variation in angles and what not. May get a little small, but we’ll do what we can.

-The scrollers are at knee height and about 6’ up on stage. They are where the actors can hit them. The one on the left will move to get out of the way of units (bus). Not so actor or unit friendly, will work around it.

-The drop will block the set behind it as far as we know right now – we’ll have to see it when it’s hung. Make sure we’re good. Lights will help mask

MUSIC: Anna Ebbesen

-Before “Blue Suede Shoes,” harmonica moment on stage? Think on it, talk to Sam.

-Will figure out which harmonica to use and get to props on that. Can come from the pit if the actor isn’t comfortable with it.

-No guitar – Dennis will have Chad’s guitar. Would be hard to pass off.

-Corey and Anna will chat.

-Ceiling fan is getting put back up. It’s on the park’s list.

SOUND: David Gerena

-CD to Corey. Done and done. The track listing was e-mailed. Not showtunes.

-Corey leaves on Friday evening-ish. Or Saturday in the very very very early morning. Will look at the schedule and see when Dana and Corey can pow-wow.

-Go through mic list together in the next couple of days.

-Handhelds are backstage L and R just in case something happens with the mics. 20 wireless available for actors. 18 wireless that are primary, 2 are on people but pulled if needed.

-We’re in good shape.

-Rehearsal schedule: possibility of Wednesday/Thursday night having a sound check with the actors. We’ll think about it. We’ll try. An hour long? 2 hours max. Whatever works.

We’ll think about it.

-Corey and Anna need to sit down and look at the orchestra set up. We’ll mock it up, do what we can.

-When is the pit going to be orchestra ready? Anna says by next weekend. Sound wants it by Wednesday the 17th. We can compromise on time of day. Scroggs says morning.

-New dressing room monitors, thank you.

-Dressing rooms all set with sounds stuff everywhere? They will be by tomorrow morning. Sarah likes tequila.

-Looking to use shotguns or something, depends on the board space.

COSTUMES: Sarah Farnham

-Costumes: Amanda Bridgette – Fitting Tuesday at 11:00am.

-Kiersten before Smoke on the Mountain Tomorrow.

-Chelsee is scheduled.

-Josey needs to be fitted – will get him in as soon as possible.

-Deidra – need her in as soon as possible. Will need to build her new costumes. Need to ask Marty about that and pull up an estimate. Will have answer by Tuesday morning.

-Blue Suede Shoes – Need to buy a new pair of shoes for Molly.

-Ed will always where the hat – maybe change it to a black bandana – need to be able to hide that hair. Maybe a brown wig for her?

-Molly brought hair, but didn’t talk to her about it yet. Dana will talk to her.

-Let’s try to wig her before we dye her.

-Need to see John Code for measurements.

-3 back-up dancers in leopard print dresses – how badly do you want them? On a scale of 1 – 10 – a 6 on how badly she wants those dresses. If it’s too expensive, understand. But need them in the scene – 8 or 9.

-Bryan (Chad) does not have blue eyes. They are brown. Thinking we’ll just cut the line, not a big issue. Money can go elsewhere!

-Layne’s and Wal-mart both carry lightbulbs – for inside the dressing room it comes from the costume shop budget. Seif will install it. Or Poje.

PROPERTIES:

-2 Tamborine purses are good, one still in process. Will look at after the meeting.

-Bicycle not rigged yet, but it will be.

-On the back of the pictures – write a little love note.

-Need to see Matilda’s dress to match mega phone. Sarah will give a scrap!

-Dress (oil rag) is built for the purpose to prop-age. No problem.

-How many bottles for the bar? The bottles are plastic, can be screwed on. Weight them also. One needs to be removable. Some of the standards. Not a full bar – it’s slim pickins.

-2 beer bottles to be handed out.

-Bowl of peanuts can be permanent. Regular peanuts are in the bowls and edible.

-Statue of Venus – hand prop. She carries it on stage and puts it on the pedestal. Big enough so that it reads from the audience. The 3’ one. How heavy is it? The pedestal is something that will be set out by a cast member. It does go off after the scene. She will also have fliers.

-The pen: no big, just needs to write down orders. Not for warden, bar. No need for a real pad of paper, just a stack of paper or a piece of folded up paper.

-Chad: did he bring a guitar? Will look into it. What kind of guitar? Not imperative to have it wired for sound – can be picked up with his mic.

-No flashlight and cross for Matilda and Earl.

-Wedding, baskets not needed.

-The fans are built – in the rehearsal stage right now.

-Rehearsal props? Basket for me in the closet, thank you!

-More of the paint for the bike? Yes. Trying not to destroy the bike. Scroggs and Josh will sit down and look at it. Just tell us how to get it grounded, so that it can be choreographed as such. Don’t need to ride it off at the end. Blackout.
