Stagecoach Group is a major UK rail operator, running the East Midlands Trains, South West Trains, and Island Line networks. It is also a partner in Virgin Rail Group, which operates the West Coast inter-city rail franchise. It also operates a major tram network in Sheffield.
We have a great opportunity for a 15X Fleet Engineer to join us and to provide professional engineering support to the Class 15X fleet.
Leading a team of four staff you will be responsible for ensuring that the class 15X fleet is maintained and operated in a safe working condition at all times, ensuring maintenance procedures are adequately prepared to provide the most cost effective, maintenance plan, continuously improving the technical performance of the class 15x fleet and providing technical support at the maintenance depots.
In order to be considered for this role your application will need to demonstrate;
· Degree education and Incorporated/Chartered Engineer, or qualifications leading to professional status.
· A minimum of 5 years experience managing in a technical/development field, especially in relation to the 15x fleet.
· An ability to work on own initiative, be an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Good analytical skills coupled with a process driven method of working.
· Ability to lead and manage the team to deliver technical and administration support to depots.
· Knowledge of relevant company procedures supporting the safety management system.
· Computer literate and familiar with MS Office, Compass, RAVERS, FERITT, Gemini and other Rail Industry specialist applications.
