What is the Light The Night Walk?

Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) annual walk and fundraising event—and the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Walkers are teams of friends, family or co-workers who raise funds for cancer research and services in their communities.

We hope that you’ll join [Team Name], raise funds and participate in the Walk with us. More details will be provided at the Kickoff BBQ Party.

About LLS

LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood cancers. To date, LLS has invested more than $1 billion in cutting-edge research to advance therapies while providing support and advocacy programs that have helped millions of patients navigate their treatments and access quality, affordable and coordinated care.

Thanks to research, survival rates for patients with many blood cancers have doubled, tripled and even quadrupled since the early 1960s. Cures for many patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and Hodgkin lymphoma have been achieved, and the five-year survival rate for children with ALL has jumped from 3 percent to approximately 90 percent over the past 50 years. The survival rate for myeloma patients more than tripled in the past decade.

Yet, despite these advances, about one third of patients with a blood cancer still do not survive even five years after their diagnosis.
