PERS-43 ROTC PROFESSOR OF NAVAL SCIENCE ROE
This is provided to define procedures and requirements for the 2016 ROTC Professor of Naval Science ROE and selection process.
REVIEW AND NOMINATION BOARD
The review and nomination process is tentatively scheduled for April 2015. The applicant review board will be conducted within PERS-43, headed by the PERS-43 Director, community detailers and other NPC O-6 members to provide additional perspective and transparency. Nomination will be based on the “best and most fully qualified” standard where an officer’s record, breadth of experience and performance in challenging command and operational assignments. All Aviation O-6’s are eligible to apply for ROTC Professor of Naval Science.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for nomination are, in the grade of O-6, meet the Universities academic requirements, and PRD of current assignment is within NPC/MPM PCS policy guidelines. When more than one qualified applicant are applying for the same position, preference will be given to Post-Major Commanders and then O-6s coming off challenging Sea Duty, Overseas, and Major Staff assignments.
REQUESTS FOR CONSIDERATION
To apply, notify Pers-43 POC of the institution you wish to be considered and forward your Under-Graduate and Graduate transcripts, current photo and career bio. PDF is the preferred format. If you are deemed qualified for the institution in which you are applying, your submitted package will be forwarded to the Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) staff and the University to which you are applying for their final review. Once selected and approved by the University, you are obligated to fill the assignment throughout the prescribed tour length. Deadline to apply is 1 March 2015.
2016 ROTC PNS OPPORTUNITIES
The following are the ROTC units for selection, their approximate fill date (YY/MM), and academic requirements. Some Universities require the nominee interview with the University staff. As stated, final approval authority rests with the University for any Officer submitted as a nominee. Unforeseen circumstances may result in additional ROTC opportunities; those will be posted on the Pers43 webpage once known.
