XI. Wonders of Positive Thinking:

A cheerful positive attitude can work wonders for one’s personality. Half of our problems can be solved if we face our problems with a positive attitude. A person may have all the resources the world can offer, but if he does not have

the right attitude, nothing can help him. If we yearn for something and due to some reason we do not get it, we should not panic. We should believe that destiny has something better in store for us. A lot of time and energy is wasted due to negative thoughts. All this can be changed through a change in attitude. Positive thinking helps in keeping the mind free of unnecessary worries, tensions and fears. It also improves our health. King Bruce of Ireland learnt his lesson by watching a spider which kept falling off the wall, but never gave up trying to climb the wall, till at last it reached the top, Savithri was told that her husband Satyavan was destined to die within a year of their marriage, but through her determination she defeated the Lord of Death. It is always wiser to hope than to despair. According to an Englilsh proverb, “When everything seems lost, the future remains”. Hope provides the best kind of succor (relief). To lose hope is to lose the war even before it has begun.

1. How can negative thoughts be changed to positive thoughts?
