Clubs are reminded that a fine of $250 will be imposed for the non attendance of any Club Player Umpire. Attached is a memo designed to assist Player/Umpires. Please distribute a copy to each of your Player/Umpires.

Players Attire – proper cricket clothing and equipment must be worn and used by all players. Umpires will be insisting on compliance with these requirements. Please inform your players that if “skins” are worn they must be white only.

Coaching Junior Matches

Please inform you Junior Managers that they are not permitted to coach players from off the field. If they happen to be on the field carrying out Umpiring duties it follows that they must not coach players.

Under 11 matches

It will be noted that only one umpire has been appointed to these matches as we recognise that these younger players may be in need of guidance. The fielding team shall provide an Umpire for these matches but he/she shall not receive payment.

Results – the winning team must post result on our Website pdca.nsw.cricket.com.au immediately after completion of the match

Fitness of Ground etc – please refer to competition Rule 18 and note that the appointed umpires are the sole judge on fitness of ground, weather and light etc. In the absence of appointed umpires the Captains/Junior team Managers shall make the decision and if they disagree the state of affairs existing at the time the question arose shall continue. Player safety must be paramount in the assessment of conditions.

Pitches- Clubs need to ensure that crease markings are at an acceptable level. Umpires will not commence play if the markings are not adequate. Encroachment of grass on to pitch area is unacceptable and clubs need to pay close attention to this as Umpires are instructed not to commence play until the encroachment is cleared. The “box area” where the stumps are inserted needs to be level with the pitch so as to ensure the correct height of stumps.

Club Officials must ensure the above has attention as the Competition Committee has determined that they will inspect grounds on Wednesday prior to the match and non conforming grounds could see the scheduled match transferred to the ground of the lower placed team

Club Secretaries

Semi Finals -Please note that whilst the draw and instructions regarding playing of the Semi Finals and Umpiring appointments are included in this Cricket News it remains your responsibility to ensure your Clubs commitments are met.

Umpires for Finals - you are reminded that teams who are defeated in the Semi Finals are required to provide an Umpire for the Finals.

Grounds/Amenities – please ensure your ground is up to standard and above all that toilets etc are available and unlocked. The Executive Committee will seriously consider moving Final matches from grounds where no effort is made to provide basic facilities

Eligibility of Players – it is your responsibility to ensure that players are eligible to participate in the Semi Finals.

Turf Matches

Due to the inclement weather we have experienced we have made emergency arrangements to cover the situation if any A grade match scheduled to be played on turf is washed out prior to play commencing on the first day and if necessary matches will be moved. Clubs concerned are asked to note this and inform their teams so as there can be no misunderstanding.
