MySabre Migration / Installation GuideFebruary 2006 Appendix C – Printer Configuration for Existing Users 33

Introduction

The MySabreTM Installation process has been automated to provide you with a smooth installation and migration to Sabre Travel Network’s new desktop platform. This document was created to provide you with a comprehensive set of instructions to reference when installing MySabre.

If you are a new MySabre user, please follow the steps below.

If you are a current MySabre user, please proceed to page 21 for instructions on how to use Sabre VPN with MySabre.

Before Installing

Verify the following:

•  You have an Internet connection.

•  The workstation(s) meets or exceeds the MySabre minimum requirements.

•  128MB of RAM or higher

•  You have a valid Sabre® system Sign-in, Password, and Pseudo City Code. If not, contact your manager or MySabre representative.

•  Your browser must be Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher.

New User Installation

Before installing or migrating to MySabre, it is suggested that you close any open applications.

From your browser go to https://my.sabre.com

At the MySabre sign in screen provide a unique Agent ID (EPR), Sabre Password, and Pseudo City Code (PCC) and then click on the “Sign in” button.

•  If you are a new MySabre user this information including a temporary password will have been provided to you by MySabre via your security webroom. A new sign in page will be displayed prompting you to change this temporary password to a permanent one as soon as you enter.

Complete all appropriate fields. The New Password must be 6-8 alpha/numeric characters. The system doesn’t accept a few identical letters and numbers in a run and the word “Sabre” in various combinations.

•  If you are a new agent, your manager can supply you with this information.

Note: It is imperative that each employee sign in with their own unique, confidential password. Employees within an office or location should never share a password.

1.  The “Welcome Screen” will appear. Additional information including Minimum Requirements, FAQs, Bulletins, Downloads and other useful information can be found at the “Resource” center.

2.  Click on “Next”

3.  Windows XP users, proceed to step 4.
Windows 2000/NT users, proceed to step 7.
Windows 95/98/Me users, continue with step 3.01.

3.01  Windows 95/98/Me users, click on the Windows 95/98/Me Registry Update link.

3.02  A Security Alert Message will display. Click “Yes”.

3.03  On the next menu, select “Open”.

3.04  Select “Yes” from the next menu.

3.05  Click “OK” in the confirmation box.

3.06  Proceed to step 7.

4.  Windows XP with Service Pack 2 users, select the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Microsoft update link.

5.  From the Microsoft download page, select the “Download” button and follow the instructions for this update.

6.  Once the update is installed, restart your computer and begin the MySabre Installation. Skip step #4. This process does not need to be repeated.

7.  Click on “Install MySabre”

8.  The installation routine will verify and report which operating system you currently use.

9.  Click on “Next”

If your browser is not Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher a message will be displayed informing you of this. If your browser has met the minimum requirements, proceed to the next step.

•  Workstations with Windows 98 and above will be directed to the Microsoft download site for an updated browser.

Once the browser has been downloaded and installed, the workstation will be required to be restarted. Return to https://my.sabre.com to continue the installation.

10.  Click on “Yes” to install the MySabre ActiveX Control.

11.  The installation routine will use an ActiveX plug-in to check your system to ensure that it meets the minimum hardware requirements including the workstation’s processor (CPU), RAM, hard drive space, and video settings.

•  If all items Pass, proceed to the next step.

•  If all items Fail and have “ActiveX Failure” in the “Your System” column, this is due to the browser not being able to run the ActiveX plug-in. Directions on how to enable the ActiveX plug-in are located in Appendix B. Once this has been resolved, return to this step.

•  If the Video Resolution is the only item that failed, this is probably due to the workstation’s current video resolution setting and can be corrected very easily. Directions for changing the resolution are located in Appendix C. Once resolved, return to step 9.

•  If there are any other hardware components that do not meet the minimum requirements, the installation cannot continue.

–  Once your hardware meets the minimum requirements, please return to https://my.sabre.com to install MySabre.

12.  Click on “Next”.

13.  The installation routine will check to ensure that you are Java Plug-in compliant. If the workstation is Java compliant, it will respond with “You are Java Plug-in Compliant! Please continue…” Continue to Step 21.

14.  If the workstation is not Java compliant it will start downloading the Java Plug-in. Click on “Yes” to continue and obtain a compatible version of the Java Plug-in from Sun Microsystems.

15.  The download from the Sun Microsystems Website will start. The Java Plug-in is approximately 14 to 16 MB depending on your region. The amount of time required to download the Java Plug-in will vary depending on your Internet connection.

24.  The list of applications to be downloaded and installed is displayed. This list includes any supporting applications/files for the applications chosen. Click on “Next”.

25.  The installation routine will prompt for the location of the applications. Click on “1.Internet” to continue.

Note: If the software has been downloaded previously to another workstation, you can select options “2. Scan LAN” or “3.Specify WS” so that the software does not need to download a second time. If the software is not found, the installation routine will automatically obtain it from the Internet.

26.  Click on “OK” to start the download.

27.  Progress of the download will be displayed.

28.  Once the applications have been downloaded, the installation routine will install the applications.

29.  After all the installation has completed select the “Yes, I want to restart my computer now” radio button. Once selected click on the “Finish” button.
