Linda Harasin and Mark E. McCallick Join the

Orange County SBDC

(Santa Ana)— The Orange County Small Business Development Center (OCSBDC) has announced the appointment of two new consultants, Linda Harasin and Mark E. McCallick, CPA, CITP. Joining a team of experts, Harasin and McCallick will serve local entrepreneurs and existing business owners with technical assistance that supports the mission of creating, expanding and retaining business in Orange County.

“Linda Harasin and Mark McCallick complement our family of business professionals here at the OCSBDC,” said Leila Mozaffari, OCSBDC director. “Each has a special expertise and a wealth of small business experience to help enterprises reach the next level of success.”

With sixteen years of experience in the small business community, Harasin stands ready to share her expertise in business planning and development, financing, marketing, and public relations with OCSBDC clients. No stranger to Rancho Santiago Community College District’s OCSBDC, she served as a business consultant for the Entrepreneur Training Institute program from 1996 to 2000.

Concurrently, she is an adjunct instructor for the University of California at Irvine, California State University, Fullerton, Santa Ana College, and Saddleback College where she teaches business communications, marketing, business planning, and small business management. She also serves as a consultant for the North San Diego County SBDC.

Harasin previously served as the Orange County executive director for American Women’s Economic Development Corporation, and as director of the alumni network for the University of Phoenix and its California campuses.

With a background in broadcast journalism and public relations, she holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and communications from Wayne State University in Michigan and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Mark E. McCallick, CPA, CITP, is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® who brings 20

years of small business-related experience to the OCSBDC. His expertise includes small business

software selection and implementation, business entity establishment tax consequences, business planning and organization. With his own small business, MAC McCallick Accounting & Consulting, he shares a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained through personal experience.

Previously, McCallick was vice president of CBIZ Conrad & Associates, LLP, a regional CPA and consulting firm. Prior to that, he served as manager of advertising finance for NBC Television, and has also worked for Ernst and Young as an auditor.

McCallick teaches fund accounting in the non-profit management certificate program at California State University, Fullerton, and has been a frequent speaker at the California State Society of CPAs' nonprofit conference. He is experienced in the areas of auditing, consulting, tax and systems integration for nonprofits, and is the co-author of Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual for Non-Profit Organizations.

With a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola Marymount University, he is certified by the California Society of Certified Public Accountants as a microcomputer specialist, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
