Profile/BIO

Kelly Podgorny, RN, MS, CPHQ, is a project director at The Joint Commission in the Division of Standards and Survey Methods. She is the subject matter liaison for the Medication Management Standards and co-subject matter liaison for the Infection Prevention and Control Standards. During her career, she successfully facilitated several multi-organizational improvement collaboratives with academic medical centers. Ms. Podgorny holds a master’s degree in nursing science and management from Northwestern University, is certified in health care quality from the National Association of Health Care Quality, and is doctoral student in Nursing at Rush University-College of Nursing. Her doctoral capstone project is focusing on processes for preventing HAI.
