HONORING RAYMOND EARL ANTON

ON THIS 100TH BIRTHDAY

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton will be honored by friends and relatives on March 13, 1999 in celebration of his recent 100th birthday on March 2, 1999; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 2, 1899;

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton married Eulalia on February 15, 1999 and they remained happily married for 63 years until Eulalia’s death;

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton and Eulalia Anton were blessed with three children, Frances Osborne of Houston; Arthur Anton of Seabrook and Mary Eulalia Maly of Grand Prairie; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton served his country with valor in the United States Army in World War I;

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton worked as a machinist for the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Sedalia, Missouri until this retirement 35 years ago; and

WHEREAS, Raymond and Eulalia frequently visited their children in Texas until Eulalia’s death; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton became a permanent Texan in 1988; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Earl Anton has lived during the most eventful century of this nation’s history and has been a model and inspiration to his family and to those who have known him;

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Seabrook, Texas, I do hereby proclaim March 13, 1999 as Raymond Earl Anton Day in the City of Seabrook; and on behalf of the City Council and citizens of Seabrook, I offer sincere congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Anton for many more happy days in the future to share with family and friends.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I do hereby set my hand and cause the great seal of the City of Seabrook, State of Texas to be affixed this 13th day of March, 1999.
