Leonard "Lenny " Daniels of Burlington and Newton, Massachusetts departed this life on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Newton Health Care Center, Newton, Massachusetts following a lengthy illness. Leonard leaves to celebrate his life: Wife: Bertha; Stepmother - Rosie Lee Wagner - Dallas, TX; 3 sons - Leonard (Gaynelle) - Raleigh, NC; Keith- Dorchester, MA; John (Tanya) - Tampa, FL; 1 daughter Danyelle (Ian) - Dorchester, MA; 6 brothers: Julius - San Diego, CA; Herbert (Barbara) - Lancaster, TX; George and Howard - Grand Prairie, TX; Carl - New Mexico; and Sean (Kim) - The Colony, TX; 5 sisters: Ora,Margaret and Nancy - Grand Prairie, TX; Derrell - Powder Springs, GAand Rita - Irving, TX; 9grandchildren; 6 sister-in laws; 4 brother-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and three special friends - Charlesena Stone, Willie Frierson and Clyde Nesbit.
Masonic Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Russell Auditorium - 70 Talbot Avenue, Dorchester, MA at 6:30pm. Christian Services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Union United Methodist Church - 485 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA beginning with a 9am viewing and services at 10am.

Interment will be at BourneNationalVeteransCemetery, Bourne, MA.

Masonic Bio for PMWGM Bro. Leonard Daniels, 33o

Bro. Leonard Daniels was a member of Eureka Lodge #15 under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful George Washington Carver Grand Lodge, Inc. AF&AM. He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice in September of 1973, passed to the degree of a Fellow Craft in October of 1973, and raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason in December of 1973.

In September of 1974 he was elevated to the Degree of a Royal Arch Masons in Keystone Chapter #1. In January of 1975 he dubbed a Knights Templar in Rising Sun Commandery #1. In September of 1976 he was created a Noble of the Mystic Shrine in SaharaTemple #1. In May of 1978 he was initiated as a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret. In June of 1979 he was charged with the task of leading the newly organized Commandery (Calvary Commandery #2) as the first Eminent Commander. In August of 1979 he was conferred with the honorary degree of Inspector General, the 33rd and last degree of Freemasonry by the United Supreme Council of the Southern and Western Jurisdiction of the United States of America and Canada.

Bro. Daniels served in the following leadership positions: Worshipful Master of Eureka Lodge #15 from December 1984 through December 1985; Eminent Commander of Calvary Commandery #2 from June 1979 through June 1985; Most Worshipful Grand Master of Most Worshipful George Washington Carver Grand Lodge, Inc. AF&AM from 2003 through 2005.
