Holiday Homecoming
Come to Zanesville & Muskingum County and celebrate the holidays with us. Holiday cheer is overflowing and we want to share it with you!
Day One
10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Begin your day with a behind the scenes tour of the production
facility at Hartstone Pottery. This company manufactures quality
hand-painted pottery products. After the tour, shop for holiday
gifts in their on-site outlet. You might also wish to decorate your
own piece of pottery to give as a special gift.
11:45a.m. – 1:00p.m. Experience holiday elegance at the Schultz Mansion. Savor a
delicious lunch as you marvel at the holiday decorations. Built in
1900 as a wedding gift from William D. Schultz to his bride Ethel
Granger Schultz, this mansion has 26 rooms with 5 baths and 8
Fireplaces.
1:15 – 2:00 p.m. Stop at White Pillars Christmas House where it is Christmas all
year round. You’ll be surrounded by Christmas decorations and
collectibles in all styles, shapes and sizes. Find the perfect
ornaments, nativities, music boxes, collector dolls, linens and
nutcrackers.
2:15 – 3:45 p.m. Experience Christmas the Glenn family way when you visit the
John and Annie Glenn Historic Site. Tour John Glenn’s boyhood
home adorned with decorations and learn about 20th century history
through the lives of John and Annie Glenn.
4:15 – 4:45 p.m. Come in from the cold to enjoy coffee and hot chocolate at the
Welcome Center. Here you can pick up a knowledgeable Step-On
Guide who will accompany you on a tour of the city.
4:45 – 5:45 p.m. Enjoy a guided City Tour complete with beautiful Christmas lights. If your group is visiting between November 28 and December 7, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the following events in Downtown Zanesville:
Miracle on Main Street/Holiday Tour, November 28
Festival of Trees, November 28-30
Celebration of the Arts, December 7
6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Relax and be entertained with a theatrical performance while you dine at Bryan Place located in Downtown Zanesville. This building was formerly a YWCA and is listed on the National Register of
Historic Places.
8:15 p.m. Return to one of our fine hotels to snuggle in for a good night’s rest.
Day Two
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Listen to traditional Christmas songs played on the organ at
Putnam Presbyterian Church. Marvel at the original Tiffany
stained glass window as you learn about one of the oldest churches
in Zanesville.
11:30a.m. – 2:30p.m. Come home for the holidays to the Village of Dresden. Experience the warmth and hospitality of a hometown atmosphere with the
traditions and charming qualities of yesteryear. The village offers over 40 quaint and unique shops where you’ll find Christmas gifts for everyone on your list. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the various eateries or arrange for a group lunch.
If you get the chance, you’ll want to kick off the holiday season at
Dresden’s event entitled “Come Home for the Holidays.” This year the event will take place on December 1.
2:45 – 7:00 p.m. There’s no place like Longaberger HomesteadÒ for the holidays! From November 23 to December 23, Longaberger Homestead comes alive with holiday spirit.
Enjoy a holiday feast, family style at the Homestead RestaurantÒ located at Longaberger HomesteadÒ. It will feel like Christmas Day as you share heaping bowls of all the foods you love.
7:00 p.m. Return to your hotel or depart for a safe journey home.
