Position Description
The credit research team is integral to our investment process and is relied upon for issuer credit reviews, market insight and relative value ideas. The working environment is collaborative, with the team seated together on a trading desk. The analyst will work closely with portfolio managers and the head of credit research. Primary responsibility will be performing credit reviews of corporate and municipal bond issuers. Chilton invests in substantially all major corporate industries and municipal sectors and the analyst should be prepared for a “generalist” role. As a buy-side analyst, the successful candidate will actively contribute to our market views and relative value decisions.
Other areas of focus include but are not limited to:
· Assist in client communications with periodic written reports and meetings
· Conduct portfolio analysis for prospective and current clients
· Maintain and update investment database and spreadsheet applications
Position Requirements
· 3-5 years of experience in credit research
· Interest in learning the investment management business
· Organized, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
· Ability to process large amounts of information, arrive at a timely opinion and clearly convey opinion either in writing or verbally
· Strong working knowledge of Excel
· Comfortable learning and utilizing new software / technology applications
· Understanding of economics, statistics and financial statement analysis
Compensation and Benefits
