2. Primary Focus for today’s meeting is:
a. Financial recap of HRP MN as of MTD June 2016
b. Legal Conference recap of revenue and financials, update
c. Discuss August Meeting
d. Discuss Fall Conference / Sales

3. VP Community Involvement (Rob)
a. Boat Cruise tonight
i. Board boat at 3:50pm
ii. Currently 38 paid attendees
iii. Attendees get 1 free drink ticket

1. HRP Annual Membership, SHRM National Annual Membership, State Conference Attendee Registration, SHRM Certification Prep Course
v. Remaining HRP costs = $590
1. $400 SHRM Exam Fee
2. $495 State Conference Fee (this cost was waived)
3. $190 National SHRM Membership
4. VP Finance Report (Susie)
a. We are coming out “ok” on Boat Cruise but won’t be profitable
b. June
i. Net income of $4,000 does not factor in 2 large checks that haven’t cleared, resulting in approx. $2,000 in the red
1. Metropolitan Ballroom for Legislative Update - $3,210.84
2. Womens Club (balance for Dec 2015 Holiday Party) - $1,958.49
ii. Legislative Update
1. Broke even in attendee registrations
2. $1,500 in sponsorships
c. Focus for balance of 2016 is recovery plan to end year in the black
i. Discussion about cancelling August meeting or moving to webinar format
1. Luncheons are a loss when less than 40 paid people attend
2. Currently there is no sponsor for August- cancelling in person lunch meeting. Took a board vote on this. Voted 4-0 in favor of cancelling.
3. Presenter information was just received last night – we are running tight on time to get HRCI CEU certification credit approval
4. There is no fee to cancel MBC
5. Vote is to move August luncheon to webinar format
ii. Work/Life Conference on September 22nd
1. HRP gets 100% of sponsorships that we bring in
2. There are 22 tables available
3. Goal is to raise $8,000 in sponsorships
a. Every board member please bring in one sponsor
b. Christine will email links to W/L Conference website and sponsor pages
c. The money that we raise helps us to be more strategic in
i. The quality of speakers that we have
ii. Holiday party

1. In the past, sponsors have covered parts of the event (appetizers, wine, etc.) and HRP has paid for the venue
2. Ideas to make the Holiday Party more profitable instead of a net zero event like in past years
a. Offer food stations instead of sit down meal to encourage mingling
b. Pre-determine amount given to charity
c. Give charity money raised from auction
d. Balance charity portion with sponsorships
e. Something people can take home (build a wreath, frame, etc.)

a. Pinstripes – Edina - $24pp
i. Includes: appetizers, dinner, bocce ball or bowling – alchohol is not included
b. Cedarhurst Mansion – Cottage Grove - $50pp ( OUT)
i. Includes: 3 hours on weeknight, full meal
c. Surly Upstairs Room – Christine will check into
d. Sociable Ciderworks – Christine will check into
