Job Description
PrimeAsia, leading supplier of finished leather to the branded footwear business is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Quality Control Manager responsible for Managing the final inspection of all product prior to shipment in our China facility. This individual will report to the factory COO and the Global Quality Director. The successful applicant will be responsible for product evaluation, color evaluation, trimming and grading ensuring that all leather meets the customer’s expectations prior to approval for shipment. The Quality Control Manager will need to work well with our production and technical teams to ensure that any concerns regarding leathers received in the final inspection area are communicated back to the production floor. Regular visits will be necessary to factories that utilize our products along with occasional visits to brand offices. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks and work well in a team setting across several cultures. The QC Manager should be comfortable making decisions regarding the shipment of final product to our customers.
Desired Skills and Experience
Prospective candidates will be self-motivated and have excellent time management and organizational skills having worked in the inspection or production areas of a tannery. They should have a strong understanding of the leather production process. The applicant must have a strong understanding of Satra grading principles having at least five years experience in the grading and inspecting side leather. The candidate should have the ability to converse in Chinese and English. MS Office proficiency will be important with very good Excel and Word skills.
