Guidelines for TNS RENEWAL-TESTING OPTION

TNS opting to renew their TNS Certification by retaking the TNS Exam shall register with Continental Testing Service (CTS) within 60 days of their certification lapse date. Guidelines are as follows:

1) Contact your closest TNS Course Coordinator (TNSCC) via phone or e-mail and notify of intent to renew by exam. The TNSCC will need the following information in order to submit a testing roster to CTS:

a) Last Name

b) First Name

c) Middle Initial

d) Social Security Number

2) Registration—Requires 2 step process to alert TNSCC in addition to the testing agency. Log on to the Continental Testing Service Website

a) Registration – Complete application, PRINT and mail to TNSCC with payment use this link:

b) Online Registration—Complete application, submit ONLINE, print confirmation letter only and send a copy of registration confirmation letter to TNSCC with payment use this link:

c) Online Registration—the TNS does have the option of submitting the application online using link (2,b), but submitting CTS payment via money order.

3) Payment of the testing fee can be done in one of two ways:

a) Payment by money order made payable to CONTINENTAL TESTING SERVICE and sent with completed application when using the print and mail option (2,a) or when completing the application online but paying via standard mail (option 2,c).

b) Payment online using credit card when completing registration online (2,b). When sending in your confirmation letter to the TNSCC, indicate that payment was done on-line.

4) Upon receiving APPLICATION/PAYMENT or confirmation the APPLICATION/PAYMENT has been completed by the TNS, the TNSCC will submit the testing roster (and appropriate material if any) to the CTS Office for further processing.

5) After processing by CTS, the TNS will receive notification via e-mail with information on registration and testing process including how to select a PSI Learning Center testing site, dates and times.

6) Each subsequent exam attempt (up to 3 total attempts) will follow steps 2-5.

7) TNS who do not successfully pass the TNS exam prior to the lapse date of their TNS Certification will be subject to late fees per IDPH.

8) Once lapsed after an unsuccessful exam renewal attempt process (3 exam failures), the TNS will no longer retain their TNS certification.
