With the coming of the new year, we would like to review the following changes. Our Capital Guardian Growth fund has been renamed to Small-Cap Equity. We have added the International Large Cap fund and the Diversified Research fund. Capital Guardian will manage these three funds.
For all contracts issued on or after January 1, 2000, we will be implementing a new variable annuity contract numbering schema that will start with VR instead of VA.
To summarize:
1. Our Capital Guardian Growth fund name has been changed to Small-Cap Equity.
2. We have also added two new funds, International Large Cap and Diversified Research, which will be transmitted with the following fund codes:

3. The Pacific Life Annuity contract numbers, issued in 2000, will all begin with "VR" instead of "VA". Therefore, the new contract numbering will begin with "VR00000001". All previously issued contracts will maintain the existing policy number.
