Inferno Melt Anti-Icing & De-Icing Liquids
Inferno Meltis artfully blended using a variety of Chlorides depending on the application. Most liquid deicers are made of one single Chloride component which if used excessively will damage plantings. Each of the individual Chlorides is safe around plantings in small dosages. We balance the blend of Chlorides so that there is not an excessive amount of any one single Chloride component when we manufacture Inferno Melt. What we’ve accomplished is a statistical approach to protecting landscaping and plantings. Amongst the Chlorides we use as ingredients are; Calcium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride & Potassium Chloride.
Inferno Melt is available in 4 versions:
INFERNO MELT- Our standard product has all 4 Chloride ingredients. It is an inexpensive blended liquid ice melter for cost conscious contractors. It can be used for de-icing, anti-icing & pre-wetting of rock salt. As a de-icer Inferno Melt dissolves snowpack & ice faster than dry materials. When used for pre-wetting it reduces bounce and scatter of the rock salt. When used for anti-icing it helps prevent the bond between snow & ice and the pavement. It has a low freeze point of -36°F. Corrosion inhibitor additives are available as an option.
INFERNO MELTM -Is an inexpensive blended liquid ice melter for cost conscious municipalities that will not allow Magnesium Chloride to be used on their concrete roads and bridges due to concerns over ASR (Alkali Silica Reactivity). In the Midwest region, due to our high humidity, slippery conditions on the pavement may result from the use of pure Calcium or Magnesium Chlorides under certain temperature and humidity conditions. Inferno Melt M is not sufficiently hygroscopic to prevent its use as an anti-icer. It has a low freeze point of -12°F. Corrosion inhibitor additives are available as an option.
INFERNO MELT ORGANIC - liquidadds a residual effect to the standard Inferno Melt blend, essentially gluing the salts to the pavement or walk thus making it last longer on the surface which means less subsequent application of ice melters. This is ideal for snow removal contractors who need maximum ice melting that starts sooner & lasts longer than conventional rock salt.Inferno Melt Organic also provides significant corrosion resistance allowing it to be used in sensitive areas. It has a freezing point of-34F.
INFERNO MELT with RESIDUCRON - is a clearliquid with the Residucron organic additivewhich adds a residual effect to the standard Inferno Melt blend. The residual effectfrom the Residucron additiveis likegluing the salts to the pavement or walk thus making it last longer on the surface which means less subsequent application of ice melters. Unlike our other organic additive, Residucron is clear. This is ideal for snow removal contractors who needlong lastingicemelting power but can't have darker colored organics that may have a slightodor outside storesand offices.The Residucron additive also provides significant corrosion inhibition allowingit to be used in sensitive areas. It has a freezing point of-34F.
USE ANY OF THE INFERNO MELT PRODUCTS FOR THESE APPLICATIONS
Pre-wetting – Application rate is 8 -12 gallons per ton of rock salt at the auger / spinner or onto loader bucket when loading truck.
Melting begins immediately - no waiting for salt to make its own brine. Acts as a liquid accelerator for salt.
10% - 15% reduction in salt use for Inferno Melt standard & M. 15% - 25% reduction for Inferno Melt Organic & w/ Residucron.
Anti-icing – Application rate for anti-icing is 20-30 gallons per lane mile. For frost prevention use 15-20 gallons per lane mile.
Prevents bonding of snow and ice to pavement.
Prevents “black ice”.
Inferno Melt Organic & with Residucron have significant residual effect whereas with the standard product & M there is a very mild residual effect.
Quick and easy application using spray rig with solid stream nozzles.

De-icing – Application rate is 40 gallons per lane mile.
Melting begins immediately. Inferno Melt melts through packed snow to the pavement where it will spread and break the bond between the ice & snow and the road allowing plows to remove it easily.
