More on http://cricklewood.net/event/cricklewood-festival-2014/ The event could do with some help to put up the marquees in the morning (meet at 830 at the sub station on Cricklewood Lane – part of the green area and opposite McGowans pub) and/ or for taking them down in the evening at 6.30. Be good to have couple more fit and strong people to help. If so please phone Danny 07595631167. (he says there’s a drink in it for them!)

We will be at MapRA stall in Keyes Road from 1pm to 4pm at least; giving away harvested fruit (mainly apples; some pears). Sharing a stall with Transition Willesden who are providing their jam, local fruit. If you can help for an hour or so, please let me know. But be happy to see and chat to anyone who passes by. We are near Cycletastic - bring your bike along for a service too.

The Mapesbury Dell has won another “London in Bloom” Gold Medal Award. A well-deserved tribute to all the volunteers in the Gardening team (especially Jill Rixon and Darren) who keep the garden look great and to Brent’s Park Service who also did so much work throughout the year. But it wasn’t just for being a pretty garden; it won 17 out of 20 for community involvement. Our congratulation to the Dell trust and all involved over the year.

Invite any who attended the Open Studios event last Saturday to feed back any comments about the event to me. So we can improve on it next time (likely to be in 2 years time)

Ward panel meeting. Our next Police liaison meeting is on Thursday 25 September; 6pm-7pm at Ashford Place (60 Ashford Road). A group of local residents meet with some of our local Safer Neighbourhood police Team (SNT) to discuss crime issues and police priorities. Of particular concern at the moment are the recent rash of burglaries and the problems with people sleeping rough in Gladstone Park

Let me know of particular issues you wish to raise or if you would like to come yourself.

Visitor parking scratchcards. The validity of the old visitor parking scratchcards still in circulation has been extended to 31 December 2014. Understand that the Council will consider a recommendation in October to extend the validity of the scratchcards indefinitely. More
