Flor Cacho is currently an Employment Counselor at Workforce Solutions – Northline location. Ms. Cacho has proven to be an asset to our team by exhibiting a unique set of skills that allows her to motivate and encourage customers to get the most out of what Workforce Solutions has to offer. Currently Ms. Cacho has taken on the responsibility of teaching our training courses that include Resumes, Work in Texas tutorials, and Basic Interviewing Skills. In many instances classes have been so well attended that we found it necessary to change the location to a bigger room to accommodate all of the participants. This speaks volumes as it shows that the customers are indeed benefiting from the workshops and developing skills that will help them in the future. The resume building course seems to be the most popular as I have personally seen classes balloon from 4-5 people to well over 15 people. Ms. Cacho is currently researching what additional workshops we may be able to offer that will help benefit the customers we serve at the Northline office..
In speaking with Flor, I have observed a genuine desire to make a difference by engaging the customers and providing a best course of action type of approach. Sometimes when conversing with a customer there are times when you must inquire or be able to pick up on small amounts of information that will better help you understand what the customer is trying to communicate and what they may need at the time. Flor is exceptional when it comes to doing this, which has directly attributed to the number of success stories she has shared with the office. Flor Cacho’s motivation clearly derives from the personal satisfaction she gets when she able to help others help themselves and provide a means to improve their current situations. While every instance does produce a tangible number attached to it, Ms. Cacho represents what it means to genuinely care and this is why she makes a difference!
An example of Flor’s caring and motivation is shown in the accompanying “Food Bank Volunteer Day” presentation. She organized a volunteer project for the Northline office at the Houston Food Bank. She scheduled the time and date, solicited volunteers, and provided the Powerpoint presentation to celebrate the successful event.
