Dear Parents and Student: May, 2015
Congratulations, you may be eligible for the 8th grade trip to Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey on Friday, June 12, 2015. The trip will cost $100.00, which includes transportation, a NEW school safety field trip yellow T-shirt, all you can eat lunch and park admission. “Family” passes cannot be used for this school trip. This form must be returned to school and handed in during student’s lunch period beginning May 1 until May 22, 2015.
In order for your child to participate in the end of the year 8th grade field trip, the following will be implemented:
1. ALL STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE WEARING THE NEW T-SHIRT WITH THE SCHOOL LETTERING. NO SHIRT, NO TRIP!
2. Any student receiving referrals and/or suspensions for behaviors that are violation of the Wappingers Central School District’s Code of Conduct will not be allowed to participate in this activity.
3. All students must maintain a positive work ethic. Teacher input may be sought to confirm.
All students must pay with cash or money order made out to WJHS and a completed application will be taken. CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
You will need to bring the following to make your day a really great adventure:
money for souvenirs and games, extra food, locker rentals ($5.00), a towel for water rides, sun screen, sun glasses, a good attitude, a snack for the ride home, a carrying bag for all of the above, and all students must “report in” for lunch at 2:30 p.m. sharp in the “Catering Picnic Grove” next to the Dark Knight Ride.
Please note the following:
1) Supervision ratio at the park will be 1:10
2) A general safety zone by the Main Gate with all day staff coverage will be detailed to all participants for any issues or concerns
3) Students must “report in” for the all you can eat lunch with the entire school at 2:30 p.m. Menu includes: hamburgers, chicken nuggets, nachos & cheese, pasta salad, fruit bar, ice cream and beverage.
The park does not allow glass containers so do not bring beverages packed in glass.
On the morning of the trip, you must enter the school building WEARING YOUR NEW SCHOOL SAFETY FIELD TRIP YELLOW T-SHIRT. There will be bus signup sheets in the auditorium at 6:15 a.m. There will be music stands in various sections of the auditorium indicating Bus #1 thru #4. Please sit in one of the bus sections with your friends and sign up for that Bus #. DO NOT LEAVE your seat until directed by your bus chaperone to board the bus.

I have discussed safety issues with them and told them not to engage in disruptive behavior. My child and I understand that the trip money only includes admission to the park, an “all you can eat” lunch and transportation. I understand that no refund will be given if my child is late for the bus. I also realize that I must get my child to WJHS by 6:15 a.m. on June 12, 2015 and be ready to pick up my child at 8:00 p.m. in front of the school building.
