“Facts – In – Five”

The objective of this program is to have your child memorize his/her math facts and then complete a math fact review sheet within five minutes. Your child will have one week to memorize the assigned facts. Below is a schedule that outlines which facts your child will need to study. He/she will be given five minutes to complete the answers to these math facts.

Week 1 / +0 and +1 facts
Week 2 / +2 facts
Week 3 / +10 facts
Week 4 / +9
Week 5 / Doubles
Week 6 / Sums of ten
Week 7 / Using tens
Week 8 / Doubles Plus +1 and -1
Week 9 / All facts

If your child is successful at mastering their facts, he/she will receive a frog for a lily pad in their own personal pond (see back of the page). The following week they should begin to study the newly assigned facts in addition to the previous week’s facts. Each review sheet will be accumulative.

If your child did not master these facts, they will be asked to practice the same facts again. The following week a similar test will be administered. You will know if your child has mastered the facts because they will receive a certificate saying they mastered the facts that week.
