Dear Mr. Park:

Given my professional and academic background in engineering and my strong research and writing skills, I believe I am particularly well-suited to your firm’s intellectual property practice. Throughout my studies at Winged Heart Law School, Roja Vista, I have focused on preparing myself for a position with a firm which handles copyright and trademark litigation cases. As a third year student, I am very interested in pursuing a position as an associate with Park & Park after taking the bar exam.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, where I graduated with a 3.4 G.P.A. Before entering law school, I determined that I wanted to practice intellectual property law, so during my career at Winged Heart Law School, I studied copyright law, trademark law, patent law and litigation.

Additionally, I gained valuable practical intellectual property experience during my summers as a law student. During the summer of 2012, I worked as a law clerk for Lawyers for the Arts, where I concentrated primarily on copyright infringement matters. Last summer, I worked as a summer associate for Simpson, Griffin, & Hill, LLC, conducting legal research and drafting a number of motions and memoranda on unfair competition and trademark registration. Through these experiences, I not only developed strong research and writing skills, but also confirmed my interest in intellectual property.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the possibility of working as an entry level associate with Park & Park and have enclosed my resume for your review. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Emily Nunez
