Received training on manual vertical milling and manual turning which composed the bulk of my responsibilities. Materials most common were delrin, 2024 aluminum, 6061 aluminum, 316 SS, 303 SS, 304 SS and tooling steel. The majority of work was on small (1/8”-1”) 303 SS and 316 SS parts. Work included milling, turning, drilling, tapping, and OD threading. Work included analyzing finished products to ensure tolerances were within +/- .005” down to +/-.0005”. Other responsibilities included shop upkeep, maintenance of CNC machines (lubricant levels and cleaning), assembly of small machines, and assembly of conveyors. CNC machines operated include: MDC 500, VF4, Mini Mill, TL2 Tool Room lathe and ST10 lathe with bar feeder. I studied programming on Mini Mill and ST10 lathe.
