I. Objectives:

One of the most important applications of computer in recent years is its multimedia dimension that has been widely used for business and educational purposes. This course is aimed at introducing the function of multimedia and some useful tools in creating interactive application. After the class, students will be familiar with various kinds of tools, such as Photoimpact, Acrobat, MediaStudio Pro, Flash, Frontpage, and learn to edit and incorporate such multimedia elements as image, text, sound, video, animation in your final project. The class will be conducted through lecture, in-class exercises, and presentation.

III. Requirements/Grading:

1. Class attendance and participation: 20%.

* Class attendance is required. Absences due to illness or other emergent incidents must be reported to the instructor before class section.

2. Assignment: 20%. (No late assignment will be accepted).

3. Mid-term exam: 30%

4. Final project: 30%

*. Since we are going to use lots of multimedia files, please prepare some storage devices, such as Flash Memory (隨身碟). You probably also need to use it to save some software into your disk.
