BBABC Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
May 6, 2013
6:30 pm BTHS Media Center
Board Members Present: Joe Jasmon, Chris Sheffield, Jay Marshall, Mary Borde, Bruce Kuzma, Keith Martin, Sherri Dawson and Dana Hancock.
Absent: Donna Osteen, Mike Prince and Sarah Brittain
Joe Jasmon called the meeting to order at 6:33pm.
Individual Team Updates:
· Girls LaCrosse made it to the State Final Four and finished as State Runner-up! Congrats!
Minutes: Joe Jasmon asked everyone to review the minutes from the April meeting. Sherri Gallitz made a motion and Steve Bristow seconded to accept the April minutes. All were in favor and the minutes were passed.
Treasurer Reports –There is $58, 232.28 in the checking account, the Money Market has $38,436.23 and the Savings account has $5.00. Dana Hancock made a motion and Bruce Kuzma seconded to accept the treasurer’s report. All were in favor and the treasurer’s report was accepted.
General Membership – Barry Craig thanked everyone for coming out tonight and congratulated the Boys Track team for winning their second consecutive State Championship. Once again it came down to the final event, the 4x400 relay and Nick Uruburu came from behind to seal the victory for the relay and the team championship.
· Results are in and Bartram Trail High School did win the St Johns River Conference with 168 points. Creekside finished second.
· Sports Physicals are a week from Saturday, May 18, 2013. We will have 8 doctors on site.
· The Gym floor is being redone as we speak. Looking really good.
· Spring Football Game is away at Palm Coast.
· Barry would like some help from Booster Club for the turf program and a new cart to be purchased next season.
· 6 Home Football Games next year. Looking forward to the fan participation. Our concession revenue should be very high considering the teams in our conference.
· Special thanks to those involved in the Low Country Boil, especially Bruce Kuzma for organizing the event and everyone else involved in making it happen.
· Thank you to all the Booster volunteers for their support this year. We couldn’t do this without you and we appreciate your support to the Booster Club.
Committee Reports:
Executive Committee - Keith Martin reported Chip in for Youth results for TPC Ticket Sales. We finished 2nd place for the event by selling 550 tickets. Top Sellers- Boys Soccer sold 170+ tickets and will receive $4275.00, Boys LaCrosse sold 80 tickets and will receive $2750.00 and Girls Varsity Basketball will receive $1400,00. Approximately $3,500.00 was raised for the Booster Club to utilize next year on your Athletic programs.
Finance Director – Donna Osteen- nothing to report.
Fundraising – Bruce Kuzma reported Low Country Boil generated in $27,000 in revenue and $22,000 in profit. Weather was better this year, but we need to find the balance for the auction items to generate more profit next year. Overall, the benefit was extremely successful.
Communications – Dana Hancock- Dana sent an email encourage our senior’s to complete the Scholarship Application. Nothing else to report.
Membership – Mary Borde is transitioning to Candida Chisholm. The Bricks came out nice, but they are too big. We need to have them cut down about an inch.
Publications – Jay Marshall had nothing to report.
Apparel – Sherri Dawson- freshman t-shirts are available online.
Concessions – nothing to report.
Team Liaison – Chris Sheffield thanked all of the liaisons for all of their help this year. He will transition to Dan Coates as the new Booster Club Liaison Coordinator.
New Business:
Nominating Committee – Joe Jasmon called for nominations from the floor. There were no nominations from the floor.

Scholarship Committee – Joe Jasmon reported that the committee will be having the interviews on the 5/16 and 5/20. We need to push for more applications. Joe Jasmon has only has 3 to date. The deadline for applications is 5/15. The awards will be given out on 5/23 at senior night. Board members children can apply.
Joe Jasmon thanked the entire Board for everything they have done over the last year. He named all the outgoing Board members specifically. Mary/Art Borde, Dana Hancock, Sherri Dawson, Steve Bristow and Chris Sheffield.
Joe Jasmon opened the floor for nominations, with none being provided Joe introduced the slate of officers to be considered for election. Keith Martin made a motion and Dana Hancock seconded to accept the slate of officers for the upcoming year. The motion passed. Joe presented the new Board Members for 2013/2014

Sherri Gallitz made a motion and Dan Coates seconded to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor and meeting was adjourned at 6:58 pm.
