Full time internship split between two facilities: Casa Vallejo and Hope Solano. Casa Vallejo is a short-term, crisis residential treatment facility contracted by Kaiser Permanente for dual diagnosis clients. Responsibilities include group therapy, individual therapy, family/couples therapy, and risk assessments. The population at Casa Vallejo includes clients with high acuity and personality disorders. The Hope Solano is an outpatient drug and alcohol program that provides individual, group, couples, and family therapy with adults ranging from 18 to early 80s. Populations consist of homelessness, substance abuse, domestic violence, complex trauma, criminal justice, and probation. Overall, duties are to provide both brief and long-term therapy, case management, oversight and collaboration on psychological testing of practicum students, and onsite support/supervision to the AOD interns. Collaborating and providing individual therapy for homeless clients participating in the Transitional Care Program (TCP) of Benicia Coalition for Better Health. Participate in weekly individual and group supervision, didactic trainings, case conferences, and monthly diversity seminars. Provide daily documentation of services provided with Medi-Cal billing and use of online documentation services.

Helping Caregivers: A respite care handbook for parents who have children with autism
Developed a respite care handbook for parents who have children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder to help the parents learn how to engage in self-care. The research project focused on getting qualitative feedback on the usefulness of the handbook. Conducted data collection and analyzing the data. The project was accepted to the American Psychological Association Convention, in August 2012.
