□ / R-CBM: Oral Reading
Participants will be trained in how to properly administer and score the Oral Reading (R-CBM) measures used for grades 1 through 8. Emphasis is placed on adherence to the standardized instructions, collecting data properly, and in obtaining inter-rater reliability among trainees. / Grades 1-8 (Benchmark/Strategic Monitor) and

□ / MAZE: Reading Comprehension
Although Reading Curriculum-Based Measurement (R-CBM) is the best overall measure of students' general reading proficiency, for some students, educators have felt the need for another measure, especially when comprehension problems are suspected. Maze reading (MAZE-CBM) can be used in this instance as a corroborative or supplemental measure to provide a more complete picture of students' reading skills.
Participants will be trained on how to administer and score the MAZE measure during this module for grades 1-8; however, it is recommended that for Benchmark data collection, it primarily be used for students in grades 3 and higher. Emphasis on inter-rater reliability and data integrity is included. / Grades 3-8 (Benchmark/Strategic Monitor) and
Progress Monitor at any age / 1 hour / □ R-CBM and MAZE Combined Practice Exercises (Mandatory. This is the same practice book as in R-CBM and may be shared for both modules if you are training on R-CBM and MAZE combined)

Written Language
□ /
S-CBM: Spelling
Science-based research has shown that dictating grade-level words aloud at a prescribed pace for 2 minutes and counting the number of correct letter sequences provides a valid and highly reliable measure of general spelling proficiency. This standardized testing approach is part of a testing practice called Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM).This module covers the background information, administration and scoring of S-CBM. Emphasis on inter-rater reliability and data integrity is included.

WE-CBM: Written Expression
Being able to communicate thoughts and ideas in writing is a fundamental basic skill that is valuable throughout life. From leaving notes for family members, to writing term papers and theses, writing skills are fundamental. Assessment of writing or written expression skills is typically viewed as something that is complex, time consuming and subjective. All three of these assessment characteristics are problematic for frequent progress monitoring, which, by its nature, needs to be as simple as possible,
time-efficient, and objective. / Grades 1-8 (Benchmark/Strategic Monitor) and
Progress Monitor at any age / 1 hour / □ Administration and Scoring Manual for WE-CBM (Mandatory)

□ / Overview of AIMSweb®
(Strongly recommended for all users)
Properly using the AIMSweb system requires more than simple knowledge of the software or assessments within it. This overview is the foundation of most trainings conducted for AIMSweb. Ithelps participants obtain"the big picture" of AIMSweb. We providean introduction to the 3-tiered model and how AIMSweb is used within that model byoffering participants a "walkthrough" of benchmarking using our reading measure, R-CBM, and a brief introduction to the reports offered at the Tier 1 level. Additionally, we provide participants withtheessential information needed tounderstand the power and science behind AIMSweb.
It is our experience that thosewho first do not understand the purpose and science behind CBM do not realize its potential and power. Therefore, to benefit fully from the AIMSweb system, this overview is integral for all new users. / Required for new users
All grades
All users / 75-90 mins / □ PowerPoint Slides (use to customize your own format for printing slides)
OR
□ Handouts (Pre-formatted at 6 slides per page)
□ / Overview of Progress Monitoring & Goal Setting (Required if you are using Progress Monitor)
Progress Monitor is one of the most detailed and powerful assessment tools available in AIMSweb for determining the progress of individual student achievement over time. It is specifically used primarily for students at significant risk of academic failure and is designed to aid staff in determining the efficacy of instructional programs. It aids in efficient instruction and resource allocation by informing staff
of "what works" and "what doesn't work" for students.
This module will inform staff on how to use Progress Monitor for determining students’ instructional levels, monitoring student progress in academic programs, determining instructional need, goal-setting, and interpreting student data in meaningful ways.
This module does NOT cover training on our Progress Monitor Software. Please see the Software Modules section of this document for those options. / Required for all new Prog.Monitor users
All grades / 90-120 mins / □ PowerPoint Slides (use to customize your own format for printing slides)
□ Handouts (Pre-formatted 6 slides per page)
This module does NOT cover training on our Progress Monitor Software. Please see the Software Modules section of this document for those options.
□ / Implementation Discussion
(Required for all new users)
This module covers the planning of implementation for AIMSweb, addresses multiple issues surrounding your system design, timetables, and assignment of responsibilities among staff. / Required for new subscribers / 90-120 mins / Implementation Discussion Worksheet

all new Prog.Monitor users /
105-120 mins / Progress Monitor Training Script
□ / Response to Instruction (RTI) Software
AIMSweb’s “RTI” software section documents the required dual discrepancy and allows for ensuring fidelity of the RTI process using customizable problem-solving tasks, assignment of specific task responsibilities, due dates, and standardized decision-making outcomes. Includes CBM testing materials and web-based software. / Recommended for specific users/leaders and often as an “advanced’ module / 2-3 hours / RTI Software Training Script

(Highest management level access)
This module covers the highest level access available in AIMSweb. Upon subscription, your AIMSweb account is like an empty home that needs to be furnished. You will learn how to "design and furnish" your AIMSweb account through this module.
Trainees will learn how to setup a new AIMSweb subscription, create and assign staff and students with user-accounts, assign students to teachers ("rosters"), enter Benchmark target scores, edit reporting options, and other essential tasks. This module is not primarily focused on interpreting AIMSweb reports, but rather on AIMSweb software management and design. /
