A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Andrew N. Fetterolf.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Andrew N. Fetterolf, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Andrew N. Fetterolf was born on November 27, 1933, a native of New York, New York, and he traversed these earthly bounds on February 19, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Andrew N. Fetterolf was the loving son of the late Helen M. Archibald and Horace Mann Fetterolf; he was the devoted husband of fifty years to Lucille "Lynn" Trout Fetterolf; he was the loving father of two daughters, Cynthia Davidson of Rhode Island and Karen Lee Grossman of New York City, and a son, Craig Steven Fetterolf of Nashville, Tennessee; he was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren; and he also leaves behind a brother, Horace Mann Fetterolf Jr. of Havertown, Pennsylvania, and a sister, Helen F. Moulton of Chatham, Massachusetts; and

WHEREAS, Andrew N. Fetterolf served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Navy during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Andrew N. Fetterolf graduated from Griswold High School in 1951, and he attended Pennsylvania State University; he spent 50 years in Aviation, flying for 13 airlines; he began flying as the youngest Flight Engineer to be hired by Trans World Airlines (TWA), and he retired from the United Parcel Service flying the DC-8; and he also held a private pilot's license, and was an instructor for many young pilots; and

WHEREAS, Andrew N. Fetterolf was an esteemed member of his community, and an active and involved citizen; he was a member of Riverside Lodge 503 F.&A.M., and a former member of Shrine and Knights Templar-Al Hasa; he was a member of 1st Capitol Detachment of the Marine Corps League, and a member of Navy Club 259 of York; he was a member of the Endowment Memorial NRA and the York Rifle Range; he was a member of the Korean Vets KWVA Chapter 178 of York, and the Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post 7045 of Hellam; he was a member of Abel-PoffLeithiser American Legion Post 469 of Wrightsville, and the Victory Athletic Association; and in 2002 he was the recipient of the Legion of Honor Award from the Chapel of Four Chaplains; and

WHEREAS, Andrew N. Fetterolf was a devout member of Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, and where his funeral service was held on February 24, 2004 with the Reverend Marion HaynesWeller officiating; his burial was in the Kreutz Creek Cemetery, where full military honors were rendered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard; and on February 23, 2004, Masonic Services were performed by the Riverside Lodge 503 F.&A.M., and Marine Corps League Services were performed by the 1st Capitol Detachment of the Marine Corps League; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Andrew N. Fetterolf has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Andrew N. Fetterolf, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Andrew N. Fetterolf.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit 10 copies of this Resolution to the Independent Pilot's Association, 3607 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40219.
