A JOINT RESOLUTION designating Kentucky Route 7 South from mile marker 4 to mile marker 5.1 in Knott County as the "'World War II Veteran Claude Hall, Sr. Memorial Highway."

WHEREAS, Claude Hall, Sr. was born February 16, 1927, in Kite, Kentucky, to Willie D. and Evaline King Hall, and he traversed these earthly bounds on April 16, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Claude Hall, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gaye Benner Hall; two daughters, Claudia Jacobs and Jacquette Slone; one brother, Virgil Hall; and two sisters, Allie Gibson and Altia Hall; and

WHEREAS, Claude Hall, Sr. was survived by his loving children, Claude Hall, Jr., Quindore Hall, Jami McLemore, and Tansy Hall; sister, Hessie Hall; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Claude Hall, Sr. served in the United States Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Claude Hall, Sr. was a highly regarded individual who was a retired coal miner, a former school board member, and a member of the Wheelwright Masonic Lodge and the Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Claude Hall, Sr. is remembered for the many and generous contributions he made to his family, friends, and the community and is deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by his remarkable presence;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate Kentucky Route 7 South from mile marker 4 to mile marker 5.1 in Knott County as the "'World War II Veteran Claude Hall, Sr. Memorial Highway," and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation.
