Lynne Best wishes to Lynne on this, her special day, as she is ordained to the Priesthood at Bristol Cathedral. We look forward to her Ministry among us. On Wednesday Lynne will be celebrating her first full Communion with us at our 10 am Service.

SUMMER FETE Thank you to all those who helped with the combined Church/ School fete. We do not yet have details of the School results, but our own efforts at Church stalls have raised the sum of £1305.65, details of which are on the Noticeboard.

CLOGS Concert A date for your diary: “A Musical Timeline” to be presented by CLOGS (Chippenham Light Operetta Group) who rehearse at St. Peter’s, together with the “Clogettes”. In St. Peter’s Church this week on Thursday 6th July at 7.30 pm. Tickets are now available from Kate Perkins (and Gill) or on the door: £10; over 60’s £8; under 16’s £6. Refreshments will be available, the proceeds of which will go to the Cornerstone project.

Organ Concerts at St. Bartholomew’s, Corsham, 4pm – 5pm. July 2nd 9th. Details on Notice board.

Family Picnicwill be held at Lacock on Sunday16th July, from 12.30 pm onwards. It will be in the park area behind the Red Lion, (some parking behind the Red Lion or use the National Trust car park). Bring your own food, drinks, folding chairs and sunshine! Transport will be available – to arrange please contact Alison Shackell (653565).

CoffeeMorning Another of our all age, free, coffee mornings for all to come and enjoy a chat over coffee and cakes on Monday 17th July, 10 till 11.30 am. in church. See posters on the Notice board.

Children’s Holiday Club This will be in the last week of July, Tuesday 25th to Friday 28th , from 10 am till 12 noon. There will be lots of exciting activities on the theme of ‘Gamechangers’ , including crafts, games songs and short films. Contact Jane Brown 653848.

BBQ Another date for your diary: BBQ at Trade winds on Sunday 20th August at 12.30pm. Details to follow.

Members of the PCC: Note that the next meetings of the PCC will be Thursday 31st August at 7.30 pm.

Every Thursday morning Mums come with their babies and toddlers during term time at 9.30am till 11am for playtime and social chat over tea & biscuits. Contact Caroline by email on or on tel. 07811 295319.

Men’s Lunch is another opportunity to enjoy sharing lunch time with others. There is an informal group of about 8 or 10 men of St. Peter’s who go to (normally) the Pheasant for lunch on the last Friday of each month. We sit and eat and chat over a £10 to £12 meal. … and pray for the recently bereaved, their families and friends, especially those of Elaine Fuller, Rosemary Powell, Anthea Wild and Esme Joyce Robinson. May they rest in Peace, and rise in Glory.

World issues. Please pray for all those affected by the disastrous fire in the Grenfell block of flats in London. Remember, too, the conflicts in the Middle East, and especially those at home who have suffered as a result of the terrorist activities. Pray that the educational TV channel “SAT-7 ACADEMY“ soon to be launched in September will be successful (see SAT-7 leaflets in church). “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you” – 2 Thessalonians 3.16.

Schools: Generous God, source of all knowledge and wisdom, thank you for the precious gift and opportunity of learning, and for schools and colleges across our Diocese. In July we specially think of all teachers and support staff.
