Cafe Supervisor – Rock Up

This is a unique opportunity to join one of the UK's hottest new leisure brands. Rock Up currently has three sites in Hampshire, Birmingham and Hull, as well as further sites planned for 2018 and beyond.

Rock Up operates an exciting, new indoor climbing concept and a high quality cafe. The concept is best described as 'theme park meets climbing wall' and has proved hugely popular with consumers.

Rock Up are now looking to recruit a Cafe Supervisor to work at its brand new centre in Hatfield. In this position you will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the cafe, leading the food preparation and production whilst on shift, devising and monitoring training and coaching your team, for driving sales, for customer service, and for maintaining standards. The Cafe Supervisor works very closely with the Duty Managers and Centre Manager for Rock Up.

This role will also provide the candidate with the opportunity to play a central role in the overall catering operations in Rock Up, and catering development at new centres.

The main duties of this position are as follows:

· To oversee the management of the café facilities

· Assisting with the recruitment of new hires into the cafe facility

· To ensure that all café staff receive and comply with relevant training;

· To run monthly training for all café staff;

· To ensure that health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived;

· To work with the Duty Managers to assist in planning staff shifts and rotas;

· To drive upselling within the café environment, and train staff in this;

· Budgeting and establishing financial targets and forecasts;

· To monitor the quality of the product and service provided, and make recommendations for changes accordingly;

· To keep and maintain accurate financial and administrative records;

· To manage stock levels and ordering new supplies as required;

· To ensure compliance with all fire, licensing, and employment regulations;

· To interact with customers, and to be the point of contact to deal with all customer queries whilst on shift;

· To be the point of contact for working with suppliers and clients relevant for the café operations;

· To maximise sales and meeting profit and financial expectations;

· To manage the food and beverage provision for parties, functions and events;

· To supervise catering and waiting staff at functions;

· To organise, lead and motivate the catering team;

· To work with the Management team with regards to planning new promotions and initiatives, and contributing to business development;

· Keeping abreast of trends and developments in the industry, such as menus or trends in consumer tastes.

· Experience gained working as a catering/restaurant Manager in busy restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, or commercial contract catering operations, including significant experience delivering a menu to specification

· Experience of managing a team
