Can’t believe January is already here! We have exciting things happening in the library this month!

Tomorrow is our AR Winter Wonderland! The library will be closed until 12:00 for the winter wonderland and my lunch. We will reopen at 12:00 for the remainder of the day! I know the students are anxious to return books and check out new ones! The schedule has changed for the Winter Wonderland since December. The new schedule is shown below:

8:15-9:15 – 5th grade

9:25-10:20 – 4th grade (Thompson, Seidel, and Shults)

10:25-11:20 – 4th grade (Shelton, Elley, and Schwarzlose)

The book fair is coming! Our book fair will be Monday, Jan. 23 – Friday, Jan. 27th. Family night will be on Tuesday night from 5:30-7:00. Hopefully we will have the food truck outside again for families to grab dinner! We will be setting up the book fair on Thursday, Jan. 19th. The library will be open for kids to check out books but no classes.

On Friday, Jan. 20th, the Bluebonnet Voting Party will bein the library from 2:45-3:20. Students who have read 5 of the bluebonnet books are eligible to attend!

We have lots of new books in the library! We received 2 huge shipments of nonfiction books that should be ready by next week. These books are high interest books that should get the students reading! Some of the new series are the following: Animal Adaptations, Military Missions, Freaky True Science, and Girls Play Sports!

Get excited… We have an author visit on February 23rd!!!! Crystal Allen will be here to talk as well as write with the students! I am so thrilled to have her visit. One of her books is a bluebonnet book for the 2017-2018 school year, Spirit Week Showdown. I will post the times that each grade level will visit with her at a later date!

Until next time…Happy Reading!
