- Manage the day to day safety for a number of FM and M&E contracts across the North, Midlands and Scotland areas in particular Siemens engineering, wind power and fossil fuels contracts.

Sky UK
- Manage the day to day health and safety for the North field team consisting of approx. 700 field based staff Sky as well as6 customer contact centres housing around 2500 staff ensuring the safety of all field engineers and staff in all Sky run premises, conducting accident and incident investigations where required and carrying out any training to the field teams based on current risks identified in addition to managing construction and maintenance works within the contact centres.
- Develop and deliver bespoke training sessions to engineers in the field ranging from working at height, manual handling, risk assessment and safety awareness.
- Implemented a behavioural safety programme for all field based staff to give them a better understanding of identifying risk and how to deal with them.
- Carry out regular (quarterly) full site audits and monthly inspections for every Sky premise in my operational area, from kitchen/food preparation areas to general staff areas, ensuring any deficiencies are fed up to management and dealt with.
- Chair the regional safety groups, inputting data and statistics/trends for group members and taking forward any actions arising from the groups to the national safety committee.
- Investigate any accidents within my operational area, liaising with external bodies when required including the HSE. Putting forward proposals and action plans to prevent a re-occurrence and follow these up with training sessions/briefings and production of bulletins to relevant staff.

MWH UK Ltd
- I managed the health, safety, quality and environmental issues for the company across the UK for all the offices and various client based officesin addition to managing various client inspection regimes for their construction activities on new builds and refurbishments.
- I assisted in the company gaining OHSAS 18001 in 2008 then developed and maintained the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality management systems for all the UK offices in accordance with the standards OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001 and 14001 including liaison with the accrediting body LRQA during the surveillance audits.
- Carried out monthly and quarterly audits and inspections for each premises in the UK ensuring statutory and company compliance was being met.Provided support and assistance to operational management in the implementation of safety, health and environmental policies across all UK offices including staff based in client offices where required in addition to providing information to bid teams for submittal.
- Designed and delivered bespoke training across all UK offices as well as India, Bahrain and Dubai on a variety of health, safety and environmental subjects to all levels of staff. I brought the India office up to a level of safety compliance in line with the MWH UK Offices with regards to CDM 2007 compliance. As a result of this I also implemented a behavioural safety system across the UK offices.
- I worked alongside a new client and set up a new SMS for a Nuclear operating company, made up of Spanish and Belgium staff, ensuring all staff at all levels were aware of their responsibilities, providing on going advice and guidance to all levels.
- Ensured the company gained its highest Achilles verify score (99% in 2008) since it began being audited by Achilles.

Jarvis Accommodation Services (JAS)
- Managed the health and safety on PFI contracts across various JAS managed establishments including; schools, hospitals, emergency services buildings, MOD buildings and local council contracts.
- Responsible for implementing corporate policy across 13 sites in line with UK legislation and JAS corporate policy and provided support and assistance to operational management I developed a new system for the reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses and trained all staff in the use of the system, production of all safety bulletins relevant to staff on my contracts and distributed to relevant staff dealing with any feedback/training issues as a result.
- Responsible for bringing underperforming contracts up to the required national standard including a localcouncil contract where I got the performance scores from a 35% failure to 90% full approval within 6 months.
- Carried out active monitoring of the regional contracts via an ongoing safety auditing programme including active MOD Army sites, schools housing on site catering facilities, secure council hospitals and various local council sites each with different risks to not only site based staff but visitors and members of the public. Ensured that any deficiencies found were dealt with in a timely manner to ensure that the client services were not interrupted as well as ensuring staff and personal safety was maintained at all times.

DISC Ltd – North East Charity focusing on depravation and exclusion
- I managed the health, safety, maintenance and refurbishment activities for 20 individual projects across the UK. Projects included working with clients in diverse areas such as drug misuse, homelessness, young parents and young offenders.
- Sourced, approved and managed allcontractors for the company.
- Implemented a new employee safety forum for DISC as well as chairing, producing and reporting on key risk indicators including accident and incident details.
- Created bespoke training programmes for all levels of the business including driver training, needle stick injuries, lone working and premises management as well as introducing a full day corporate induction course.
- Successfully implemented an active safety audit programme based on DISC and client expectations and I fed back the monthly results to corporate level as well as implementing any new procedures/training required as a result of failed audits.
- Carried out risk assessments for a wide variety of buildings, activities and staff working methods that ensured not only buildings met statutory requirements but also staff personal safety was at the forefront of everything that was done.
- I ensured all staff were working to these assessments at all times and that any new working practices were reflected in these assessments while making certain that client safety was not affected.
