RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR

BUMP & RUN DERBY STYLE RACING

GENERAL RULES

1.  If car does not pass inspection absolutely no refund!!!!

2.  All rules will be followed or you will not run!!!

3.  Drivers must be at least 18 years of age, with proof of ID.

4.  Drivers must wear seat belt, helmet and eye protection. Officials will black flag any contestants whose vehicle, in their opinion, is in unsafe condition or whose life is in danger.

5.  Drivers must wear long sleeved shirt, long pants and closed toe shoes. (NO SANDALS)

6.  Only drivers and pit crew members that sign the release sheets are allowed in the pit area. One driver and two pit crew members per car, these persons must be at least 18 years of age. Driver is responsible for pit crew. Pit passes will be issued only to those present at the time of inspection. All drivers must attend the drivers meeting.

7.  DO NOT HIT THE DRIVERS DOOR!! Sometimes this happens but if it looks intentional or careless you will be disqualified. DO NOT USE DOOR AS SHIELD. No head-on collisions. Drivers door must have three pipes for reinforcement or be poured with cement three days prior to the event. You must have a bar or 3/8” chain properly secured from roof to dash in the center of windshield area.

8.  NO HOT RODDING IN PITS.

9.  NO alcohol on the premises. You WILL be disqualified and removed from the fairgrounds.

10.  Cars are subject to re-inspection before any prize money will be handed out. There will be a $50.00 protest fee and you must be a driver to protest. (Fee is nonrefundable). All protests must be made before the next heat.

11.  No tires bigger than 31” horizontal diameter, no split rims, no studded tires. Foam filled or double tires okay as we don’t want any flats!! Valve stem protectors are okay.

12.  Use any motor and transmission of your choice, you may weld or chain motor in place.

13.  Use rear end of choice, must be 5 lugs. You can tilt rear end if you wish. Welded or posi-track highly recommended.

14.  All cars must have working brakes.

15.  Original gas tanks must be removed* and may be remounted securely in the back seat and covered with rubber. You may use a boat tank or a well made fuel cell and it must be properly secured. No gas cans are allowed. Fuel line must be secured and fastened properly. Keep away from exhaust. Fuel cell must be behind driver’s seat or in center where the back seat use to be.

*Gas tanks can stay in factory location if installed in front of rear axle.

16.  Radiator must remain in stock locations. Transmission coolers will be allowed, but must remain in engine compartment.

17.  Batteries must be moved to passenger floorboards, and must be properly secured and covered with rubber mat. Only one automotive type battery.

18.  You must have a number on each front door and one on a vertical 12” x 12” white placard on roof to facilitate judging.

19.  Hood must have at least two 12” square holes cut out in case of fire. You must chain hood and trunk in 2 places, not to frame. Hoods must be open for inspection.

20.  You may repair floor boards only for safety purpose.

21.  You can have (2) pieces of 3/8” or smaller loose chain on bumper to secure to bumper mounts to keep bumper from falling off.

22.  Any questions give us a call. If it doesn’t say you can do it then DON’T DO IT!!!

23.  Any controversies will be taken up at the drivers meeting.

24.  DECISIONS RENDERED BY JUDGES OR DRIVERS REPRESENTATIVES WILL BE FINAL……

NEW RULES EFFECTIVE MARCH 2016:

25.  If no roll cage, you MUST have a minimum of 1 (one) vertical post behind the driver’s seat from floor to roof with a minimum 6” x 6” plate on each end which must be bolted to floor and ceiling. Post must be a minimum of 2” pipe or 2” x 2” square tubing with a minimum of 1/8” wall thickness. Absolutely NO wooden posts will be allowed.

26.  Air bags MUST be removed.

27.  All drivers and pit crew MUST be present at the time the car is checked in.

28.  Hood latches MUST be removed.

29.  You MUST have driver’s door protection; you may use 1/8” plate, pipe, square tubing, grader blade or fill door with cement. If using pipe or square tubing you must smash over ends, no jagged, protruding ends. No driver’s door protections = you don’t race!! If door protection comes loose you will be disqualified.

30.  Cars will be re-inspected upon staging.
