Visual and Performing Art Department Chair (2007-2010) Developed curriculum, supported growth of department by instituting school wide art show that offered a generous prize; created a space for students to highlight their musical, artistic, and dramatic talents for the school; instituted the celebration of California Art Day that encourages students to express themselves artistically.

Advanced Placement Art History –Prehistoric to Gothic / Gothic to Contemporary (2001 to 2015)

Academically challenged high-achieving students with college-level coursework in Art History ranging from Prehistoric to Post Modern Art, with focus on viewing original artwork and creating art. Two semesters.

Advanced Placement Studio Art: Drawing and Painting (2002 to 2014)

Guided students in creation of art portfolios consisting of twelve images based on a subject concentration, and twelve on creative and technical ability; facilitated fieldtrips to draw in parks and museums.

Art Appreciation / Art I - (2000 to present)Led hands-on interactive classes that introduce students to a variety of art styles and periods; helped students understand a range of artistic mediums and techniques; introduced the many art careers available.

Art and Artifacts of the Holocaust:Two-week course. The fellowship was received to participate in Holocaust studies at Vad Vashem in Jerusalem, travel throughout Israel, and develop and implement a high school curriculum on the art and artifacts of the Holocaust.
