5121.13 - Preparedness Actions
Forest Supervisors shall conduct fire preparedness reviews on each District by July 15, annually. The Regional Fire Staff shall assist in preparedness checks if requested by the Forest. Document preparedness reviews and submit a copy of review to the Regional Director, Fire, Aviation and Air Management.
Regional Foresters will schedule preparedness visits annually to selected Forests on a rotating basis.
5121.2 - Fire Management Plan
Forest Supervisors are responsible for preparing a Fire Management Plan. This plan is the vehicle for implementing Forest Land and Resource Management Plans (LRMP) direction. Update Fire Management Plans annually to reflect current LRMP Plan direction and the latest National direction and terminology. Submit updated Fire Management Plan to Director, Fire, Aviation and Air Management by June 1annually.
5125 - FIRE WEATHER FORECASTING AND MONITORING
5125.1 - Fire Weather Stations
Forest Supervisors shall maintain and operate fire weather stations in accordance with Geographic Area plans and operating guides.
5126 - PREPAREDNESS TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONs
5126.04a - Field Units
Forest Supervisors are responsible for completing a training needs assessment and training program in cooperation with other agencies and cooperators.
