Reporting
Relationship / The TEAM LEADER reports directly to the Service Manager and to the Director of Services as appropriate
Community Based Support Staff and Community Facilitators report directly to the TEAM LEADER
Purpose of the Post / The role of the TEAM LEADER shall be to support the Service Manager and Director of Services in managing the day to day running of the service, including Residential, Respite, Home Support and Outreach Services.
Roles and
Responsibilities / The TEAM LEADER will:
1. Oversee and support the induction of new staff to the organisation.
2. Support the management of staff and the staff rosters.
3. Complete annual appraisal and develop a professional development plan for each staff.
5. Facilitate education and training of staff and attend and plan in service training as required.
6. Motivate staff team members through agreeing goals and objectives
7. Attend staff team meetings and service user meetings as appropriate.
8. Plan activities, holidays, events etc. with/for service users.
9. Ensure that Community Facilitators and all Community Based Support Staff have sufficient skills and knowledge to carry out their role effectively. Work in a frontline capacity as required.
10. Be part of the rostered “On-Call” 24/7 support service within the organisation to include Management back – up.
11. Facilitate the upkeep of facilities, to include scheduling of general and planned maintenance and domestic cleaning duties as required.
12. Liaising directly with family members and other stakeholders in relation to direct service user care and support issues.
13. Ensuring local adherence to, and practice of; policies and procedures,
Risk Management processes, quality and safety management systems, health safety, national standards, legislation etc.
14. Ensuring the service user’s personal plans are kept up to date, including that all service users are involved in establishing goals and are supported to meet these goals.
15. Verifying that service user’s medications are available and appropriately managed
16. Affirming that the rights of all service users are realized and that service users are treated with dignity and respect.
17. Supporting the integration of staff team members from the local
Employment Development Projects into services provided by the organisation.

18. Liaising with all external agencies and stakeholders.19. The role may evolve to include Person in Charge role (HIQA)
20. Be aware of the confidential nature of the work and in particular, the right of service users to confidentiality. To this end you will not discuss workings of Clann Mór or its service users/staff with people outside Clann Mór, except within professional capacity and in the interest of the Service User/s and Clann Mór.
21. Flexible approach to working patterns to include evenings and weekends and to cover rota shifts as/if required.

Eligibility criteria
Qualifications and/or experience / Qualifications
Essential:
• Relevant Healthcare/Supervisory Management Qualification
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Supervisory Experience
• IT skills
• Full-Clean-Irish Driving Licence. Car owner and willingness to drive
Experience
Desirable:
• 3 year’s experience in a supervisory/ management role & Management qualification
• Have extensive experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities
• Experience of managing rosters, budgets and performance management of staff.
Essential skills, competencies and/or knowledge / Professional Knowledge
Essential:
• Knowledge of Residential Care legislation including HIQA’s National Standards for Residential Centres for People with Disabilities Regulations 2013, SI 366/367 2013 and others as applicable
Desirable:
• Knowledge of organisation of health services and trends nationally and internationally
• Ability to source both theoretical and technical information
