Mind in Croydon Ltd is an award winning Registered Charity operating in the London Borough of Croydon. Founded in 1967, with an annual income of over £1 million and around 37 staff, we run a number of projects to help people with Mental Health problems. These include counselling, welfare benefits advice, advocacy, social networking and social inclusion and employment projects. 2 x SOCIAL NETWORKING CASEWORKERS

Full time permanent 36 hours per week

£20,073 to £23,590 pa (between Grade 3, Scale point 26 and

Grade 4 Scale point 3 on the Mind salary scale)

We are looking for two Social Networking Caseworkers. These posts, based at Fairfield House in East Croydon help to promote recovery and social inclusion in people recovering from mental illness by helping them to identify and participate in mainstream activities such as: education; faith and cultural activities; arts and culture; sport and exercise; neighbourhood/community activities etc. These activities take place in a variety of places in the community, at the project itself and in peoples’ homes. You will be required to work 36 hours per week any time required including if necessary, early mornings, late evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. You need to be flexible and work your hours to meet the needs of service users (for example, if a service user needs to be taken to hospital emergency department towards the end of a shift or they wish to undertake a regular early morning activity) and this may be needed at short notice. You will have: experience of working with vulnerable adults or transferable skills gained as e.g. a teacher/nursery worker etc.; an understanding of boundaries; common sense; ability to get on with clients and professionals such as social workers and psychiatrists and enthusiasm. Please note, one of our new Social Networking Caseworkers must be male under the provisions of section 7 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 this is to help with running a men’s group, and providing support in male clients’ homes.
