INTRODUCTION
The World Squash Federation, in conjunction with the Jordanian Squash Federationis holding the 12th World Squash Refereeing Conference on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th October 2013 in Amman, Jordan.
Amman, the capital of Jordan, is a fascinating city of contrasts – a unique blend of old and new, situated on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley.
In the commercial heart of the city, ultra-modern buildings, smart restaurants, art galleries and boutiques rub shoulders comfortably with traditional coffee shops and tiny artisans' workshops. Everywhere there is evidence of the city’s much older past.
Due to the city’s modern-day prosperity and temperate climate, almost half of Jordan’s population is concentrated in the Amman area. The residential suburbs consist of mainly tree-lined streets and avenues flanked by elegant, almost uniformly white houses in accordance with a municipal law, which states that all buildings must be faced with local stone.
The downtown area is much older and more traditional with smaller businesses producing and selling everything from fabulous jewellery to everyday household items.
Arrangements will be made to enable delegates to see the famous site of the Treasury at Petra and to the Dead Sea for those who wish to stay on.
THE THEME
The Conference will be held under the auspices of the WSF Referees' Committee, its Chairman, Mohammed El-Menshawy and its Director, Dr. Rod Symington. As the title of the Conference indicates, the presentations will emphasise methods for developing and improving as referees, with the ultimate goal of becoming a WSF Referee. The Conference will enable all referees to improve their performance, but particularly those who wish to progress to Regional and World Squash Federation standard. In addition, the Conference will present those who attend with an excellent opportunity to meet refereeing colleagues from around the world and to exchange views and experiences.

ACCOMMODATION AND COSTS
Conference participants will stay at the Days Inn Hotel & Suites. The hotel is located in the city centre, approximately 25 minutes from Amman Airport and boasts 24hour room service, an outdoor pool, a fully equipped Gym and Spa treatments. Squash courts are 10 minutes away and they will be available free of charge for participants.

These prices include the Participation Fee for the Conference.
If a twin room is stipulated, participants should specify on the Registration Form any particular person with whom they wish to share; otherwise pairing will be done by the organisers. The sharing option cannot be guaranteed in the case of odd numbers.
The fee for attending the Conference without accommodation and airport transfers is US$350.
