4 V 4 Soccer Rules
1. Players must control the rules themselves: there are no referees.
2. The game starts with a kickoff. You cannot score directly on a kickoff.
3. All dead ball situations are indirect, the ball must be touched by another
player before a goal is allowed. A 5 yard distance must be allowed on all
dead ball situations.
4. There is no goalkeeper.
5. All goals are worth 1 point.
6. Defensive-Offsides occurs when the defense stays inside the 12 foot arc in front of the goal they are guarding. A defensive player may only be in there if:
(1) they are guarding an offensive player that is in the arc,
(2) they are passing through,
(3) a shot or pass has been attempted in the arc and they are attempting to stop the ball or intercept the pass
7. A foul is any play that could result in injury, to include kicking, tripping, jumping at, charging violently, striking, pushing, and hand ball violations.
8. It is illegal for anyone to use the hands or arms in the game of4 v 4 soccer.
9. When a ball passes wholly over the sideline, a kick-in is awarded to the team that is awarded the ball. (There are no throw-ins in 4 v 4 soccer)
10. If the ball is touched by a defensive player and passes over the end line of the defensive team, the offensive team is awarded a corner kick. A corner kick must be kicked into play.
11. If the ball is touched last by an offensive playerand passes over the end line of the offensive team, the defensive team is awarded a goal line kick. They must start the goal line kick by passing or dribbling the ball into bounds.
12. After a goal is scored, there is no kick off. Play continues by the opposing team. They may start by passing or dribbling the ball into play from the goal line.
13. Skills used-
Dribbling-advancing the ball using short taps on the ball
Collecting-using legal body parts to stop or gain control of a moving ball
Juggling-using legal body parts to volley the ball
Shooting-kicking the ball with the intent to score a goal
Passing-a kick used to get the ball to your teammate
