Changing Lives Group comprises a parent charity, a subsidiary charity, a Property Services trading subsidiary (consisting of maintenance and refurbishment arms), a Registered Social Housing provider and a Community Interest Company which distributes food.

Job Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the main focus of the role is the maintenance and reconciliation of all bank transactions for the charity and processing sales invoices, performing credit control processes, dealing with inter-co transactions, performing month-end procedures which include accruals and prepayments. Flexibility and willingness to support the wider team is a key requirement of the post holder in order to support change and growth.

Qualifications /
  • Part qualified or qualified by experience. Studying AAT or willing to undertake training.

Experience /
  • Significant experience of day-to-day financial accounting, particularly the control and reconciliation of Bank transactions
  • Sales Ledger function and credit control procedures
  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts and working to deadlines
  • Reconciling financial information and providing analysis
  • Reconciling control accounts and Balance Sheet
  • Experience of identifying and calculating prepayments and accruals
  • Experience of completing VAT and other statutory returns
  • Experience loading bank payments and supplier runs
  • Experience working in an environment that is health and safety conscious
  • Experience working in an environment that requires confidentiality

  • Experience of developing finance systems
  • Knowledge of current accounting standards and practices
  • Experience in completing grant and funding returns
