PRAYER REQUESTS

Bro. Barry had a death in his family this past week. Please pray for the family.

We have had one at the time of this writing to be saved in our Revival. This new convert was a visitor from Victory.

We also had very good news Saturday night that Ian Herlein has realized that he was saved when he was fourteen ears of age. He made this acknowledgement during the days of the week song Saturday night. We are thankful for this..

Cindy Clemons’ mom has had several roommates at the nursing home where she resides. One of them is Gracie and, if I understood correctly, Gracie’s daughter is also in the nursing home. There is another lady there who has relayed her experience of salvation to Cindy and has specifically asked us to remember her children. Let’s keep these ladies in our prayers and pray for their families.

Bro. Mick Woodard and Bro. Dillon have assisted Bro. Barry this week in our Revival and everyone has given us great messages. Bro. Mick’s wife is out of town and is visiting her mother. She has had time to share with her mother her religious convictions. Please pray for her efforts in regard to her talk with her mother.

Pray for Cameron and Alyssa, and all of those who are under conviction and those that may be under conviction and we do not know about them. The Lord does.

Bro. H.C. Vanderpool’s grandson was saved this week at a revival at Mt.LebanonMissionaryBaptistChurch. He was the son of Bro. Vanderpool’s daughter who passed away.

MEMBER NOTES

I got it from good sources that James Alan is getting up a “paddling list.” This list is for those who aren’t coming to church! To avoid getting on this list, let’s see your smiling faces!

Susan Coon is celebrating a birthday! She has been saved 20 years on the 19th of this month!

Michelle, it’s about time for you to come home. We all miss you!

Little Damien is getting some of the words to the songs down pretty good……He can sing the days of the week song!

We’re glad Terry Parker got his work schedule changed. Now he can be with us on Sundays.

In the Spotlight…… Faith Family Member

Last week our Spotlight was on Sharon Lester!

In the Spotlight……

Faith Family Member

Our Faith member was the youngest in a large family. His parents were married in a buggy. There was a great age difference in this member and some of his siblings.

He grew up in the country – the deep country, on a farm. A little while back, he took a road trip back to the old home place. How it had changed!

He was born into the family of God at about nine years of age and his old home church is still dear to his heart.

Our member attended a one-room school for the first two grades and walked 2 miles to school. In 3-8 grades he attended a four-room school.

He played baseball on the American League team in high school, The team went to the State Tournament in Memphis and they played against catcher Tim McCarver who later played Major League ball for several years.

He moved to Nashville and married his high school sweetheart and they had a family. His children were saved under the influence of FaithMissionaryBaptistChurch. He has been a member at Faith for many years and faithful to come to church regularly.

He is retired, loves to fish, garden and spend time with his grandchildren. He has been known to share his fish and veggies at times!

Who is this member? We’ll see next week.

A Little Humor A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story. read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again. Finally she spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you?" Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago."

"Oh," she paused, "grandpa, did God make me too?""Yes, indeed, honey," he said, "God made you just a little while ago."

Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, "God's getting better at it, isn't he?"

BETHANY CHURCH

Taken from the Early Story of Red Boiling Springs Tennessee

Poem by Miss Lucy White on Bethany Church. This poem, no doubt, expresses what many of the church-goers around Red Springs think of their church, no matter which church theirs happens to be.

“Come with me to Bethany, this church you know

Was built one hundred years ago.

You will find God here if you only search,

Though it isn’t grand – just a Country church.

The members may not have much style,

But they will give you a friendly smile.

Some folks think them old-fashioned too,

The old paths to them are always new.

May Bethany Church up here on the hill

Keep the faith of our fathers living still,

May each member feel, be he great or small,

God has work for him; He has work for all.

God bless the pastor, give him words to speak,

That will cheer and comfort and help the weak.

May he preach Jesus and Him crucified

That sinners may know it was for them He died.

When Christ comes again, some day He will,

May Bethany Church be found faithful still.

May it stand on the hill, a shining light,

May it never dim, but shine clear and bright.”
